I decided to go with the birds, so Tweet Tweet!
I started with a sky blue cloth, and layered a grass mat with a nest shaped charger from Pottery Barn.
The salt and pepper shakers are Robin's eggs that sit in a little tray from the Pflatzgraff Outlet, several years ago.
Porcelain eggs from Villeroy and Boch hold some candy eggs, that you get to eat if you eat your dinner! :)
On top of the nest charger,I layered an earthy brown plate, a white as snow square lacey plate, and a sea blue plate.
A nest with tiny sky blue eggs holds the name card. They are from the PB Outlet. The eggs were gold, so I painted them blue.
The centerpiece is a nest filled with a fresh blue hydrangea which I elevated on a blue pedestal, some twigs, and some fresh baby's breath.
The little white bird salt and peppers sitting in a nest are from WS Outlet, but I have to return them as the little plug on the bottom is missing! Annoying!
I floated blue candles in flower shaped bowls, like a birdbath, lol.
The flatware is Treble Clef, that I found in BBB clearance, and then got 20 % off that.
A rattan napkin ring from Cost Plus holds a birdy toile napkin from WS Outlet.
The stems are from Cmas Tree Shop.
That's my Tweety entry for Earth Day. Hope is isn't for the birds!
So let's see who is playing this week! Don't forget your suggestions for next month's challenge. Rett, Gazebo House, suggested a tribute to our mom's, showing or using something we treasure that belonged to them.
Linda, More Fun Less Laundry suggested a picnic and some others, I have to go back and look, or Linda refresh my memory here! :)
So even if you didn't enter tonight, let us hear your ideas!
Tonight is a TABLE challenge, but next week it is back to tables or collections or anything related to tablescaping.
The rules are the same to link up...
USE YOUR NAME OR YOUR BLOG NAME or both. There is enough room to add the title of your table too. It makes it easier for me to remember the tables and who I visited when there is a name! Thanks.
Be a follower...
ONE LINK per week permitted. Second link is automatically deleted.
Leave a comment, please
And don't forget to link back to this party in your post.
Please try to visit as many as possible, no LAR's! Link and Runners ie, :)
There will be a little surprise give away, picked by random from comments from followers. Winner announced in my weekend post.
Thanks so much for visiting!
I am joining Diann for Thrifty Things Friday
Susan at BNOTP for Tablescape Thursday
Nastasha for G'Day Saturday
And now show us your take on the topic, The Good Earth! I can't wait to see yours!
Oh I love your twiggy chargers layered on your woven ones! Such tweet details from your toile bird napkins, bird S&P's, and nest placecard holders!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of honoring moms! Thanks for hosting :)
My commputer crashed. Will be late posting.
DeleteMessage for Mary HIWTBI: Mary I cannot access your blog. My computer freezes and I have to shut down. I cannot open up email (which is how I follow you) or even if I click on this link my computer will freeze. Happened three times tonight alone. I feel badly that you think I am not responding to comments!! I don't have an email for you so I am trying any way to get a message to you. -Barbara F.
DeleteI love your take on Earth Day! Just lovely...and those little blue eggs that are featured throughout are just darling. Do you know you can pick those little plugs up at a hardware store? They are cork rather than plastic but you can find them around.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job- it is so pretty- xo Diana
Your Earth table is wonderful - I love the brown and lavender together. all your attention to detail is marvelous - such a neat idea, and a wonderful linky party challenge! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI am thinking ideas for May:
Mothers
May Day
Flowers
Tea Parties
Dear Auntie Kathleen: Mom's doing dishes and we're reading tonight's post. We are SO impressed with the birdie theme! We would love to fly right over... er, come visit and eat at this table. Wait til BirdyMama sees it! She will flip. Love, Kiwi and PearlAngel xo

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting Let's Dish!
Great table, Kathleen! Definitely Earth-y! I totally forgot the challenge, but since I always have a bird and flowers, I linked up anyway! Can't wait to see what others come up with!
ReplyDeleteOh I love this table. Those nest chargers are do so cute. Love the toile napkins. Just beautiful, Kathleen!! Thanks for the challenge and the fun party.

ReplyDeleteYour tablescape is so pretty! You have such a great eye for the details. All the birds and eggs are precious and I am in love with your dishes and the napkins. Are those pewter or silver dishes under the napkins?
Thanks so much for being such a fun and gracious hostess!
Happy Earth Day!
XO,
Jane
Jane they are sea blue, earth brown and snow white make up the layers.
DeleteLove, love, love your earthy table. You really showed the theme well. Love the nests, eggs, and birds!
ReplyDeleteOh! I just love your birdie tablescape! I really like the napkins and the place card holders!! I just finished a bird one myself yesterday but I'm showing it next week. Mine is chocolate brown & turquoise and I also used grapevine wreaths around mine!!
ReplyDeleteThank You for hostessing and I'm heading to check out everyone's tablescapes! Have a wonderful night!
(hugs)
Aledia @ Plum Perfect
The deep blues & purples are gorgeous together with all the great textures of the wicker & rattan, Kathleen! Lots of very interesting accoutrements, too, with the eggs & the nests & the darling branch place card holders. Very cute ideas!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Let's Dish again this week. I enjoyed having a theme to work with & look forward to whatever you choose for the next one.
Hugs,
Rett
Thanks Retta. No purples though, everything is blue ish! :)
DeleteI love the napkins...and the blue cobalt glasses. So pretty! Fun party :)
ReplyDeleteI love every inch of that table..from the bird's nest charger to those gorgeous toile napkins...the table is so gorgeous as always Kathleen....Bird motif is one of my all time favorites...Thanks for hosting Kathleen!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
Those chargers are the niftiest things! Well put together as always.
ReplyDeleteYou can buy a little back of corks in various sizes at Michael's which should give one or two that are the right size to plug up your little birdies. I have had to replace a few of mine that way.
Thanks for the party -- always fun to rise to a challenge.
That is BAG of corks -- this auto-correct with the spelling is driving me insane.
DeleteHi Kathleen, I love all the birdy things! Don't take those little salt and peppers back if they can't exchange--just plug up the hole with something else--they are too cute. I remember those PB nests with gold eggs and I thought they should be a different color. Yours look so much better blue. I think a Mom party or another "color" like white/blue/brights might be good. Or wedding china? Happy Earth Day! Linda
ReplyDeleteTweet, tweet ~ very sweet, Kathleen. Love the twig chargers on top of the woven ones and the stack of plates is fabulous as are the toile napkins. Every detail is delightful! Love the idea of honoring our mom's using something from them. Picnics are a good idea too. So many things to feature for the table. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLovely table, Kathleen! Perfect for Earth Day.
ReplyDeleteChirp chirp.. so tweet!!! Love your idea of the Good Earth.. The chargers provide a lovely base. What a great idea to paint those little eggs in the nest.. Love those napkins too! Great table.. xo marlis thanks for hosting..
ReplyDeleteI love this table, Kathleen. So pretty with the rattan chargers with the blue and white. Great theme for Earth Day too. I went green for my post ;)

My Earth Day related is really my center piece. There is a tablescape at the end of my post. Your table is very pretty. I'm liking blue more and more. your wicker knapkin holders and chargers I love those.
ReplyDeletePat
Hi Kathleen, I love your birds nest table. Thanks for hosting. As Pat alerted me to your meme she knows I do near tablescapes only about twice a year. I am awful that way. hugs, olive
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite tables Kathleen! I love the chargers layered! I hope the WS outlet has more of the bird S&P's so you can exchange them. I've been on vacation so I pulled from the archives to join you this week since I LOVE the theme.
ReplyDeleteHonoring moms would be a nice theme for May. Thanks for hosting!
Hi Kathleen, I love your tweetie theme!! You do find the best deals. Thanks for hosting your Earth Day themed party.
ReplyDeleteI like this table Kathleen. I was going to use the same large square chargers but, I only have 3 and I needed 4. Oh, I want to snatch those napkins right through the screen! Love them! I really like the idea of doing a special Mother theme for next month. Thanks for hosting and have a wonderful evening!
ReplyDeleteOoops! Forgot to put my blog name in the title. I will try to remember next time. I love all your twiggy details with the soft blue. Once again, you found some great bargains (the flatware!). I like the Mother theme or even the picnic. Both sound fun!

I knew I should've done my butterfly table! Oh well. I am having fun seeing all these. I have the very same glasses, I love your nest and willow chargers and those napkins...those are so pretty! What a fun theme!
ReplyDeleteYou can tweet and tweet because your birdy table is precious! This so appropriate for Earth Day. The blue tablecloth is a great background for this table. ReplyDeleteThink the Mother's theme is a great idea, and maybe the picnic for the next month.
Pretty birdie tablescape, Kathleen. Love those nest chargers from PB. I was tempted to buy them ,too butt they were expensive. Your centerpece is beautiful. How about a country theme, like Asian, African, French, Spanish, etc?...Christine
ReplyDeleteFabulous twiggy-nest chargers and woven ones...just great and perfect Kathleen! Your centerpiece is so pretty and I can hear all the tweets, tweets..I love what Christine says, themes from different countries, terrific! I'd love it Italian, French, etc..somany countries! Thanks Ktahleen for hosting and having me.
ReplyDeleteFABBY
Hmmm....Italian might work, maybe Oct. for Columbus Day!
DeleteBeautiful table, K.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting...
Love your pretty birds table. Nothing says Spring is Here quite like seeing the birds come back. How about a State Scape? Everyone could do their state where they live....or where they were born?
ReplyDeleteKathleen, Beautiful table! I love the mix of organic and warm browns with teh soft and classic blues! What a great table to celebrate Earth Day! The use of the different shaped rattan chargers was brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting!
Yvonne
Looks like your arm twisting yielded some pretty cool tables here tonight, Kathleen! Those that I have visited thus far are really amazing. So many different interpretations...love the variety! Your table, my dear, is super special. It must be for the swanky birds who are chauffered instead of trying to fly! :-) You did a beautiful job with it! I TRULY dig the napkins!!!!!!!!! As for a suggestion on a challenge, I would like to have a HUSBAND CHALLENGE where the husband has to do all the work on his own!!!!!!!! My husband just flicked me upside the head for making the suggestion, but it's totally worth the pain if you decide to make this a challenge! :-) :-) :-) Another might be a GARAGE SCAVENGER HUNT CHALLENGE. We would have to use at least 5 or 7 or 10 items that you would find in a garage! Oooohhhh....how about a challenge where we have to use ALL FOOD for serving vessels? No plates or cups or bowls....just food!!! OK, my martini buzz has worn off now so I'm out of suggestions. This was fun! Have a good night!
ReplyDeleteYour table is so pretty and I love the bird theme. I used the fun mushroom place card holders I won in your St Pat's day giveaway! I was thinking something for Mother's Day for the May challenge also. Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteKathleen, your table defiantly celebrates earth day. I can't decide what my favorite thing. My table scape which I did not realize highlights the sea and sand.
ReplyDeleteYou might check out this site it has some crazy holidays this might give you some ideas.

The soft blues and browns captured my heart. I'm always drawn to small bird nests with tiny eggs, and yours set such a lovely tone. I need to search for those toile napkins...stunning! Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay

Hey Kathleen! Your setting is definitely not for the birds. I love it! I especially love the nestlike chargers. I absolutely LOVE your napkins the most. They are beautiful! Thanks so much for hosting this party and for the challenge. It was so fun rising to the occasion and I've been enjoying visiting some of the other players as well. Hope you have a very happy "EARTH" day!

ReplyDelete♥♥♥ this table, Kathleen! The chargers start off the place setting just perfectly and I love the blue plate on top of the lacey white one. :-) Keep the darn shakers- just buy replacement plastic thingees. Oh how I would kill to have that treble clef silverware. If you ever see it again anywhere- let me know!!! On sale, of course... LOL Off to NC for a few days- back soon. ~ Sue
ReplyDeleteKathleen, such a pretty Earth Day table! I love all the texture you brought in with your natural elements. The blue is perfectly paired with the naturals. No table today as we just got back from Spring Break, but it is fun to run around and see everybodys and Earth Day sure seems to be the theme!
ReplyDeleteKathleen,
