Tabletop Tuesday Tea and a Mosaic

It was wild weather here last night.  So many are without power, and trees are down all over the place.  Floods galore…I am so thankful we have power, across the way is out.. I hope everyone is restored soon!

Perfect weather for a cup of tea, a Shamrock Brownie, and since the weather was so bad, a little scoop of ice cream..:)

The plate is Fitzgerald by Noritake..a deep green marble border with thick gold trim..

Foodie and Flashback Friday~It’s not Green Beer!

table 3379

This pretty Irish Coffee glass is one of the four I won from Michael Lee at Designs by Gollum…the hostess of Foodie Friday..

Thank you, ML! I’ll be sure to think of your when I fill it with my virgin Irish Coffee..Mike will have his tainted with the devil Irish whiskey..:)

Here are a few desserts that lend themselves to the  ♣  season.

If you have a few pears, a frozen puff pastry and some preserves you can make this easy dessert…

Pear O’Tart

table 1904

Slice your pears and toss in some sugar and cinnamon.

Arrange in a tart pan, and brush with some preserves, I used mango..

Bake till the crust is golden brown.  Serve with a dollop of fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.  You can put it together in minutes thanks to the magic of frozen puff pastry.  :)table 1905

The next is an Apricot Cream Coffee Cake…

table 1992

table 1994

St. Patapricot Cake :)

Here is the recipe, from Land O Lakes Country Heritage.
Coffee Cake Ingredients:
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup LAND O LAKES® Butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 LAND O LAKES™ All-Natural Farm-Fresh Eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

Filling Ingredients:
1/4 cup sugar
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 LAND O LAKES™ All-Natural Farm-Fresh Egg
1 teaspoon freshly grated lemon peel
1 (12-ounce) jar apricot preserves
Glaze Ingredients:
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 to 2 teaspoons lemon juice
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour bottom and sides of 10-inch springform pan. Set aside.

Combine all coffee cake ingredients in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Spread batter on bottom and 2 inches up sides of prepared pan.
Combine all filling ingredients except apricot preserves in small bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Spread evenly over batter in pan. Spoon preserves evenly over filling.
Bake for 45 to 55 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Cool 20 minutes. Loosen sides of cake from pan by running knife around inside of pan; remove sides of pan.
Meanwhile, stir together powdered sugar and enough lemon juice for desired drizzling consistency in small bowl. Drizzle over warm coffee cake. Serve warm or cold; store refrigerated.

The Shamrocks are Coming…Hello Dolly ♣

Thank you for your birthday wishes and songs!  I loved them all!

I bought myself these dishes for my birthday.  Actually I bought them the  day I shopped with The Tablescaper, but tucked them away so I would be surprised for my birthday.  :)

TJMAXX…and they are four leaf clovers, not shamrocks….I know…

table 3371I started with a black tablecloth , then an off white and green check mat.

table 3375

Matching napkins, and green cabbage bowls for the soup..

Green glass charger plates by Gorham that I got at Lenox..50% off, so they were 5.00.  They go perfectly with the glasses and this beautiful green glass cake plate from CTS..less than 4.00..can you believe that?

table 3374

The Tablescaper gave me the beautiful matching platter for my birthday..Thank you, A.!

table 3367I used dark green stems with a bee on them from CTS…

 table 3379

And the pretty Irish coffee glasses I won at Designs by Gollum..Thank you ML!

table 3378

Ceramic shamrock with wipe off marker as a place marker..

I used carnations as the centerpiece the first time…

table 3369But then I felt bad for Paddy.  His cousin starred in a table of Susan’s…so I let him take center stage..

I removed the check mats, and put him in the middle and added black stem glasses…

table 3382table 3384

Well, that concludes Irish tables..except for the one for the party on the 16th..you are coming, aren’t you?  I set in the dining room so we would have more room..:)

And now for the doll part.

table 3065My  dear sister makes these.  She has made 100’s over the years.  Like this Irish one, or the traditional Raggedy Ann or Andy.

table 3067

She hand embroiders the face and puts the name on the pocket for Ann, and collar for Andy…The hair is done by hand also.

They are beautiful..I still have the Andy she made for my son over 30 years ago…a wonderful memento..

She sells them and donates all the money to charity.

Or donates them to charities for a raffle…

She is an amazing woman.  Her son was hit by a car and killed when he was 18, and her dear  little grandson is seriously disabled due to a lack of oxygen when he was an infant.  With all that heartache, she still has such compassion for others, and is so charitable…

If you have an little prayer in you for her little guy,Thomas,  I know she would love it..

2045205ce9qainhj2Thanks for visiting, and please visit Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for more tables Wed. night..

I hope to see you for Gollum’s Foodie Friday..

table 3270I made them in a molten lava pan…I got the recipe here, Carol’s , There’s Always Thyme to Cook… via Ina I believe..

table 3325

With some butter and jam?  Blueberry from Trader Joe’s..

table 3330Have a cup of tea, too…Always time to have tea with a friend..:)

Foodie and Flashback Friday

I am joining Designs by Gollum for Foodie Friday, and Suzy at Kitchen Bouquet for Flashback Friday..

I posted this recipe last year, just in time for your Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner.

I still cook some wedges for those who like it the traditional boiled way, but always make a big pan of this..

Cabbage, onions and bacon..

table 2015 Fry some strips of bacon .  Remove the bacon.

Pour off some of the fat.

Slice a large onion into thin slices.

Fry it in the bacon drippings.

Cut your cabbage into fine strips

Add the cabbage with salt, pepper, and a few good shakes of dry mustard powder, and stir fry .

Break the slices of bacon and crumble on the top, serve with your corned beef..

table 694My recipe for Irish Soda Bread is here…

table 626Have a wonderful weekend!

Hope you are joining in on the 16th!

Snowy Sunday Brunch~ Tabletop Tuesday.

So something different, snow…

I had a panettone wrapped in the frig..it is great for French toast…on an Irish themed table…

ITALIAN sweet bread made into  FRENCH toast , IRISH cloth..how continental…:)

Here’s the cloth…shamrocks, four leaf clovers, please don’t confuse the two.:), and for a pop of red..lady and gentleman bugs!

table 3306

Shamrock napkins and wood napkin rings I made..

table 3309Little pop of red with the butter dishes, which are mini lion’s head bowls…to match the bugs…

table 3305

Those all over blogland Gibson dishes, a little green Ireland teapot from my dear friend Audrey..little white pitcher from Pfaltzgraf.

table 3308The white outside, why that is snow, courtesy of Mother Nature..

You know Panettone, right?

table 3316

table 3315

Dip in your egg mixture, fry, serve with fruit and breakfast sausage..

 table 3311

No fresh fruit..because of that four letter word I didn’t get to the store..but it was still good! :)

table 1831I know some of you remember Paddy from last year.  See that little shamrock?

It is covering a little rubber bullet hole he got while in the IRA.  :)  Because of that, the manager at TJMAXX let me adopt him for $4.00 instead of 12.

Don’t say anything about it in front of him though. His cousin starred in a table over at Susan’s, and he feels a bit inferior..:)

He’s hoping you will all join in the St. Patrick’s Day blog crawl here on the 16th.  Please boost  his self esteem and join in!

Oh, and stop over at our hostess Marty’s  A Stroll thru Life for more tabletops…

Thanks!  ♣♣♣
