So something different, snow…
I had a panettone wrapped in the frig..it is great for French toast…on an Irish themed table…
ITALIAN sweet bread made into FRENCH toast , IRISH cloth..how continental…:)
Here’s the cloth…shamrocks, four leaf clovers, please don’t confuse the two.:), and for a pop of red..lady and gentleman bugs!
Shamrock napkins and wood napkin rings I made..
Little pop of red with the butter dishes, which are mini lion’s head bowls…to match the bugs…
Those all over blogland Gibson dishes, a little green Ireland teapot from my dear friend Audrey..little white pitcher from Pfaltzgraf.
The white outside, why that is snow, courtesy of Mother Nature..
You know Panettone, right?
Dip in your egg mixture, fry, serve with fruit and breakfast sausage..
No fresh fruit..because of that four letter word I didn’t get to the store..but it was still good! :)
I know some of you remember Paddy from last year. See that little shamrock?
It is covering a little rubber bullet hole he got while in the IRA. :) Because of that, the manager at TJMAXX let me adopt him for $4.00 instead of 12.
Don’t say anything about it in front of him though. His cousin starred in a table over at Susan’s, and he feels a bit inferior..:)
He’s hoping you will all join in the St. Patrick’s Day blog crawl here on the 16th. Please boost his self esteem and join in!
Oh, and stop over at our hostess Marty’s A Stroll thru Life for more tabletops…
Thanks! ♣♣♣
LOL!!! Bullet hole ~~
ReplyDeleteI am so loving the tablecloth!!
lady bugs and shamrocks what a perfect combination!!!
Blessings
Patricia
Oh!!! How festive! Tis that time of year!!! Cathy
ReplyDeleteLittle bullet hole...too funny!
ReplyDeletePanettone makes THE best french toast, and good bread pudding too. Wish I could have stopped by for breakfast but I would probably have had to snow shoe in.
LOL Paddy is great! I don't know how I missed these cute "cousins" last year. This year, at Marshalls where I found my guy, they also had one that had a huge mug of ale or beer...whatever you call that stuff, in his hand. $4 was quite the bargain! I think I need to name my guy! ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat tablescape with the shamrocks and lady bugs! The red gives a surprise pop!
ReplyDeleteI've never had that Italian cake before (and I'm married to an Italian!!) It looks really good, my grandchildren love French toast, I'll have to try this sometime!
Katherine
What a wonderful tablescape! Just perfect for St. Paddys!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Poor Paddy with his bullet hole! I'm sure he's very proud of you for taking his damaged body home for only $4!
ReplyDeleteGreat table and breakfast!
Cute! Poor Paddy! Took one for the Gipper! :) Your special French/Italian toast looks yummy!
ReplyDelete~Liz
Cute table, Kathleen! Love the story of Paddy and the IRA...looks like someone was trying to rip his heart out from where the "shamrock-aid" is! See you on the 16th...
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Paddy survived the bullet no worse for the wear, LOL! I love the ladybug/shamrock fabric, it adds just the right amount of whimsy to the setting. I have never had Panettone but it sure looks good as french toast. I hope both of us are snow free very soon!
ReplyDeleteI love your shamrock tablecloth Kathleen! I have one for my kitchen table that is utilitarian flannel lined platic. I'd love to find a cloth one like yours.
ReplyDeleteI'll keep looking! :-)
Panettone is our long time favorite!
Oh poor Paddy! I'm so glad he survived the IRA wound! Maybe that's an advantage to having a little fat on your bones-that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! That breakfast looks so delicious. I think you could use plastic fruit, and it would look delicious! laurie
ReplyDeleteOh the tablecloth is so cute!! :) Love it.
ReplyDeleteWell it doesn't get much more Irish than Panetonne from Italy.
ReplyDeleteToo funny.
I LOVE french toast! & this looks delicious.
ReplyDelete& Your table is beautiful.
Re your chef boy ar dee joke, I remember those crank calls. I guess I hung out with juvenile delinquents too!
You are always showing me something new, that you would think, in my many years, I would know about already. I've NEVER heard of this bread. I just don't think West Texas has the same things you have there in NY...just amazing and it looks so so good. Just delicious. You have such a pretty way with food. I try and try to top you but never even get CLOSE !!
ReplyDeletehugs, bj

Kathleen, you have GOT to have the greatest collection of Irish themed items I've ever seen. I thought I had a lot, but you've got me beat, hands down.
ReplyDeleteI love the clever way you present them, too...always fun & informative. Yummy looking, too!
I think I'll post a sneak peak on my blog today of Irish things to come. :D
fondly,
Rett
It looks like Paddy survived the bullet no worse for the wear, LOL! The fabric is as cute as a bug! I enjoy Panettone, and we always see it on mom's counter when we visit NYC at Christmas. French toast sounds great!
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely your month:) Run with it:)
ReplyDeleteGreat Irish themed table, I can see you're building up to the BIG day!
ReplyDeleteWe always have Pannetone around Christmas time and leftovers make a great English classic dessert "Bread & Butter Pudding" even better.
~Maggie~
Oh I so love your Irish linens and your little Mr. Paddy is just way too cute. Breakfast looks amazing. I love french toast, we have it for dinner quite often. I can't wait for the St. Paddy's blog crawl. I will be there. Hugs, Marty

I have never had Panettone. I actually tore out a recipe and was going to make my own this Christmas, but I ran out of time. I've heard it makes wonderful French toast. Everything looks so festive!
ReplyDeleteSue
I have never heard of that. Or bought that Panettone. You made it very festive and sounds so good!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
NO SNOW WHINING ALLOWED....THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR LIVING IN NY....NOW ME ON THE OTHER HAND I CAN WHINE ALL DAY....AS I LOOK OUT MY WINDOW AND HAVE WATCHED IT SNOWING SINCE 6:00 A.M.....IT DOESN'T SNOW IN THE SOUTH! LET THE WHINING COMMENCE...
ReplyDeleteI loved the bullet hole story!! Hilarious!!! Thanks for sharing. And thanks for visiting my blog & leaving me a comment on the hot air balloon I saw.
ReplyDeleteA bullet hole? Probably from a drunken brawl at the local pub for that little fella:) I see you sent the snow down to Atlanta today. Schools closed early and traffic looked like the LIE with cars returning from the Hamptons bumper to bumper and all over a few snow flurries. It would make you laugh. I love your tablecloth...way too cute!
ReplyDeleteJoyce
Love the table and the cloth. Those little bugs are adorable!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see that you are spelling Paddy correctly! I cringe when I see St. "Patty's" Day- .... Padraic is the Irish name for Patrick. Thus the D instead of a T. Okay enough of the lesson... LOL Hope your weather is not as cold as here. I have such a chill. brrr....
hugs, Sue
Hi Kathleen,
ReplyDeletePaddy is definitely a tough hombre. At first I thought he got that bullet hole from the IRS...old eyes and all, I finally read IRA. Too cute.
Love your table and breakfast. Fresh fruit or not it looks devine.
Very cute, Kathleen. Food looks good too!..Christine
ReplyDeleteThe tablecloth and french toast are both scrumptious, Kathleen.
ReplyDeleteI have my post ready to publish, the 16th, featuring a great uncle of Paddy's, Padraic O'Shamrock.:-)
Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I found your site I have linked up, and I am now following you. Pop on over and see mine. I would love to hear from you.
Love all the shamrocks!
Wonderful table setting Kathleen, and I'll have to try the Panettone for French Toast, too!
ReplyDeletePoor Paddy... but his Irish eyes are still smiling.
Your a hoot Kathleen!
ReplyDeleteI love the Irish table! The napkins you made, are just perfect, you talented gal you. Oh, and when I got home there were only paper plates left in my china hutch. You were right, he sold them! LOL. Cindy
Oh I don't know what I love more, that french toast or the cute tablescape.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you brought up the fact of shamrocks and 4 leave clovers being different. A lot of people don't understand that.
Hugs,
Joanne
You have such cute St. Patrick's day stuff! I adore the napkin rings you made. I will be here for your St. Patrick's day party!! (and I have an ongoing one of my own if you would like to join in)
