Have lunch!
Some sunny yellow St. John's Wort in a square vase with lemon slices serve as the centerpiece.
The square vase originally held a candle. After it was used up, I cleaned it to use as a vase. I put a small glass in to hold the flowers.
Faux mini lemon scatters.
Yellow and white flatware from WSonoma Outlet or PB, I forget. Under 4 dollars on sale for the 12 piece set.
Yellow placemat. Topper is a pillow sham.
I set a place for Rett , from The Gazebo House , who has been missing in action due to some health issues. I wanted to let her know I was thinking of her, and hope she feels better soon.
Lemon glasses from $ Tree, and 35 year old dishes . We had them for our summer cottage, and they have served us well! Corelle, nice and thin so you can stack them high in those cottage cabinets!
Napkins from Pottery Barn, on sale of course.
This is definitely a Thrifty Table. The yellow pitcher was my mom's. Her whole kitchen was yellow.
Hope you'll sit down and have a cool glass of lemonade!
Some lemon tarts would be good! Shortbread dough filled with lemon curd.
Here I pressed it into a ceramic Chinese spoon and baked it, then filled it with lemon curd.
Thanks so much for visiting. I am joining BNOTP for Tablescape Thursday, Gollum for Foodie Friday and Diann for Thrifty Things Friday. Thanks, Ladies!

Everything's working now, however, and for the moment, I'm grateful.

I always buy a big bag of lemons when I go to Costco and I never use them all up but it is still cheaper than buying less at the regular grocery store.
ReplyDeleteNow I have some more ideas to use them up. Lemons make my mouth water.
What a beautiful tablesetting. Those dishes are beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Karie
ReplyDeleteOh what a HAPPY, sinny table!!! I just love it!!! Love the lemon glasses, the flatware is so cute and oh boy...LEMON CURD!!!! Yumm!!!! Thanks for making me so happy seeing this lovely table! XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteI'm crazy about your yellow table. I'm so accustomed to seeing yellow as a companion color to others that it's easy to forget how wonderful and happy it is when it's the star of the show.
ReplyDeleteI had been missing posts from the Gazebo House. I'm sorry to read that it's due to health issues.
Thoroughly lovely, as I have come to expect from you.
Those glasses are adorable!!!! Now the Chinese spoon baking is clever. Loved the calzone post so much I purchased some dough boy cans to make them next week when the grands visit.
ReplyDeleteJoyce
Awwww, I'm so honored to have a special place at this deliciously delightful table! Thanks, Kathleen, for making me a space. You KNOW how much I ♥♥♥ lemon!!
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely pieces you've found & adding your Mom's vintage pitcher makes it all the more special, too.
I'm impressed with your creative Chinese spoon tart form. I never would have thought of doing that & it is really the perfect delivery system.
I'm doing MUCH better the past few days & even made a post to go up soon. I just have to finish typing the words to go with the photos. Short little sessions on the puter these days seem to work best for me.
Thanks again, so very much for including me in your pretty summertime table. I'm truly honored!
Hugs,
Rett
I love it! I love yellow and your precious lemon tablescape is just wonderful. It looks so happy and fresh to me. That was so sweet to set a place for Rett. Did not know she was ill but will keep her in my prayers. I just adore her too!

ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful tablescape, Kathleen. I love it, it's so bright! My daughter and her family just left and I am still feeling sad but we all did have a great time. I have written comments from my i pad but I never checked if the comment actually went through. I will have to check next time I try....Christine
ReplyDeleteI just love lemon curd and your idea in the chinese spoon is so clever. Such a sunny table.
ReplyDeleteDianne
I like! My daughter has a yellow and blue kitchen. We used lemon decor for her wedding and she now uses it in her kitchen. I bought her those same lemon glasses. Love the pitcher that was your mothers. Using a pillow sham, very clever! I have 2 bottles of lemon curd in my pantry. I hadn't thought to put it in a shortbread dough. Good idea. I'm going to make some, maybe for Father's Day.
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous Kathleen. I need to remember to use lemons for florals. Loved this!!
ReplyDeleteKathleen, this is a beautiful table! I love the happiness and sunshiny feel of it! And wow amazingly thrifty! I love the flatware. That is an area I am so lacking in. Thank you for joining TTF. Oh, and I love the idea of using the Chinese spoons! So creative! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a fun table.Having grown up with lots of Corelle, I'm not a fan, but I LOVE what you did with it. The slice of lemon on the side of the "vase" was a stroke genius. And I've always loved that flatware, just wish I could have gotten some too! LOL! Seriously though, Kathleen, this table is fabulous.
ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
Since I love all things lemon, this table is a real winner for me. Using lemons as aplacecards...genius! I'm going to remember that at the next lobster dinner!

ReplyDeleteKathleen, you DID not get 12 pieces of flatware for $4! I want to know what you and Bill have been doing that you get that kind of bargain! Clever lady to save that candleholder and turn it into such a pretty vase. Love the lemon used as a place card, and what perfect dishes for this setting. The lemon tarts look so good. laurie
ReplyDeleteKathleen, Your lemony tablescape makes me hungry. What is it about lemons that are so appetizing? The lemon tarts look delicious and you hit the jackpot on the lemony flatware.

Kathleen you rally brought yellow to new heights; everything looks bright and cheery; that is what yellow does for me. Those tarts looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteRita
Laughing at your idea of exercising our teeth "muscles" by eating more! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI actually lost 10# because I COULDN'T eat without pain. I do NOT recommend this diet method.
Never got to tell you how much I liked your pretty floral nosegay for your granddaughter & also how pretty your latest header looks.
Its SO good to be back, visiting!
fondly,
Rett
LOVE, LOVE LOVE your yellow table. There is absolutely nothing in the world more cheerful.
ReplyDeleteI actually did consider some sheers -- I have about a dozen of them packed away somewhere in the attic! I have settled on bamboo shades but I don't want to install them till I paint. I am not the neatest painter and I didn't want to get paint spatters on them.
I don't know what to do about my knees!
