Aren't these De LIGHT ful? Tasty Tuesday
These are from the Pottery Barn Catalog...$29 to $ 99...
This on my front porch is from Pottery Barn too, the OUTLET of course, ...$18.00 with a coupon last year...
BUT all 3 of these....which conveniently fit inside one another for easy storage...
$9.99! I would say that was pretty good...and can be used inside or out...and dressed up for any season!
Here's the box with the name..and I got them at one of my favorite stores,
Christmas Tree Shops...
And since there are 3, I join Tam at Gypsy's Corner for 3 or more Tuesday...
I had mentioned the sprayed hydrangea...These I have sprayed black, for Halloween centerpieces. They need one more coat. I will use these in a later Tablescape post..
You can paint them any color...These are from last year..used gold...added roses and Baby's breath to the gold hydrangea...
So a .99 cent can of spray paint and free hydrangeas will go a long way...
For Tasty Tuesday...I am joining Jen at Beauty and Bedlam...
Ghost Pie....
I punched little circles out of carrots for the 0 in the face, but I forgot to put them in before I baked it.. :(
Use your favorite recipe for Shepherds or Cottage Pie.( apparently if you use beef you can't call it Shepherd's...only lamb. I didn't know it was an issue till I read a thread on cooks.com.
Some guy got his knickers in a knot about American's calling it Shepherds while using beef...and was disgusted that cheese would be added...GUILTY!!!)
I use beef and the last layer before the potatoes is cheddar cheese...I don't think that is a bad thing..but this guy did!!
Use your pastry bag without a tip to pipe on the ghosts..
Pull up and slant the top as you are piping.
A little bit of fun for this BOOO tiful season...
For dessert, pumpkin cookies, some with raisins, some without for Jayne, and some with raisins and chips.
Glazed and swirled with chocolate...
Used a recipe from Recipe.com
Good flavor, but like a cakelet rather than a cookie...
Thanks, Jen and Tam for hosting!
Thanks for coming , hope it was worth the click! :)

Oh, Kathleen! Thank you for holding the raisins in my cookies! And I'll take Shepherd's Pie just the way you make it! Cute post!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely worth the click! You know I am a fan! I love the bargains you found...those are beautiful lanterns. I think CT shops are only in the east right?
ReplyDeleteThe ghost pie is so cute. What a great idea and I bet kids would eat more just because of the look. The pumpkin cookies look yum too...how thoughtful you made some for Jayne w/o raisins. What a friend!
I love the new look to the blog too!
LOVE the black hydrangeas! What a smart idea! GRRR..we have no Christmas Tree shops!
ReplyDeleteNot a Christmas shop in sight but when I travel and see one I will be sure to stop. Love the little ghosts. I was on LI this weekend for a wedding on Saturday and ate my share of NY foods. Yummy!

The lanterns are wonderful. What a great find. I sure wish we had CT shops here, but not that I can find. The hydrandeas are just wonderful too. What a great idea. Hugs Marty
ReplyDeleteGhost PIE...LOLlolloollolol! You clever girl!
ReplyDeleteLove the lantern too..all of them! You have the best stuff!
I think we can tell the foody snob that we will call it Shepherds Pie if we like. After all our shepherds might indeed use beef and cheese. Just cause his shepherds don't use beef doesn't mean we are wrong. I mean really. It is a recipe folks.
ReplyDeleteOooh I am in a testy mood aren't I?
I love the look of your blog these days, Kathleen! It's BOO-ti-ful!
ReplyDeleteThe ghost pie looks delicious!
Always worth the click!
My shepherd's pie also includes beef...so there Mr. Shepherd Pie Snob. I don't care for ground lamb and will continue to use beef and call it shepherd's pie. Hope that knot in the knickers doesn't get too tight!:)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what your tablescape will be with the black hydrangeas, Kathleen. How long do I have to wait?
Jayne, can I share that cookie?...I don't do raisins, either.
Those candle lanterns are great, Kathleen! I like the black ones you got and what a deal! You will be able to do so many things with them. Your Ghost Pie looks delicious! Always called it Shepherd's Pie (using beef & cheese) here in Canada too!
ReplyDeleteDD
Great lanterns! I have a few myself and love them. You can decorate with them in so many ways. Spraying some hydrangea's is another great idea. Can I ask what kind of spraypaint you use??
ReplyDeleteGreat idea black paint on the hydrangeas!
ReplyDeleteI call it Shepherd's pie, too. I love the lanterns. We have a CT shop about an hour from here - I will have to make a trip.
ReplyDeleteCarol
Your black hydrangeas are a hit, Kathleen. Very clever and perfect for the season. So is your pie.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathleen,
ReplyDeleteYou have such an endless supply of creativity!! I love the hydrangea spraying, clever, and the lanterns are so pretty too~ Plus you make fabulous food to boot! Cindy
Hi Kathleen! You got a really good deal on those lanterns! I love shepherd's pie...and yes, I am still going to call it that because I don't like lamb! lol The ghosts are a cute change! The cookies look yummy! Happy week!...Debbie
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous buy on the PB lanterns, Kathleen. I love the eerie look of your black hydrangea ... looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
ReplyDeleteI agree about your Shepherd pie ... spooky and definitely appealing to children. And the cookies look very tasty, with and without raisins. ;)
Hi Kathleen! LOVE your new lanterns!.. And that ghost pie is looking like it might very well be on my dinner menu for Halloween this year!.. We'll see when the time comes, as I will unfortunately be in the middle of MOVING!.. but I DO LOVE potatoes, and Shepherd's Pie! I was surprised (and disgusted) to hear someone had to make a stink over the name!!.. I don't think I'm going to lose too much sleep over his concerns though!!.. Anyways, this is my first time joining in on 3 or More Tuesday, and I really am enjoying everybody's posts today! It's been fun, and I do look forward to visiting you again! ~tina
ReplyDeleteGreat bargains! I love the lanterns and would have never thought to paint the hydrandas with the black paint (not sure why I wouldn't have thought of that, I paint everything else with black paint, lol). Your ghost pie is just darling :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Gail
Although we have a Christmas Tree Shop about 15 miles from me, I have never been there, but I'll have to go. I like the lanterns and how they fit inside each other for storage. But then they will look so nice year round. I can't wait to see what you do for your Halloween centerpiece.
