March greetings! I know it’s been a long time since I posted.
Some of you know my dh has not been well. He had not been doing well for awhile, had a few falls and more trouble walking than usual. He was admitted to the hospital from the doctor’s office on Jan. 25, and is not home yet.
It has been a long 45 days. The first 2 weeks I was driving 3 hours a day to get to the hospital, and now he is 40 min away. He had a heart attack and then developed osteomyelitis in his heel. They cleared his blockage, and inserted a stent too. They are trying to control the a fib. He is fighting to get stronger and be able to walk again. I hope he will get to come home soon!
These flowers were a birthday gift from my son , dil and grandkids. Beautiful shades of green perfect for a St. Patrick’s Day table. I don’t have much time these days to play with dishes, but you never know! Maybe I will get a few minutes to get one done by next Friday.
For now, I put some cozy wool placemats and a few plates out. We had a snow storm today and the forecast says a major snow event for Tuesday. So while some of you are up to Easter decor, here in NY, Mother Nature has different ideas!
I hope all of you are well! I keep up with some of you via FB.
I’ll be back when I can, I’ll miss the blog crawl this year!
I am keeping sweet BJ’s dh in my prayers, and I welcome yours.
All the best,
Kathleen
Hoping that spring brings you all your wishes, and a smooth recovery for your husband! Such pretty dishes!
ReplyDeleteMarch was always Kathleen:)
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear that things did not improve..I know all too well how things can change..I hope he gets well soon Kathleen and that you have your dear husband home soon.I know you have a wonderful son and family..I am sure they all bring you comfort..
Oh dear Kathleen, that is a very long time to be in the hospital. Putting your DH right beside Mr. Sweet on my prayer list. Also praying for you and the time you have to spend away from home. Hugs...
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you, love those dishes!! Hope hubby is home soon..... We also have bitter cold temps now and some new snow....more to come....
ReplyDeleteSo very, very sorry to hear this Kathleen. You and DH and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Thanks for the update and how sweet of your family to bring you the joy of flowers on your Birthday. Happy Birthday!! Take care!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear from you. I'm sorry your husband hasn't been well. You all will be in my prayers. Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteDear Kathleen, I am so glad to see you posting....I know how hard it is to even think of blogging when a loved one is so sick. It just takes the heart out of it. I have to make myself do even an update on my husband.
ReplyDeleteThank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers...and I pray for your sweetheart, too. Take care of yourself, dear one...lots of love
My heart is with you -- I know this is a very hard time for you and the family. I don't post a lot myself anymore, but I am always glad to see you, even when the news is not happy. You are a strong woman, and we will all keep our fingers and toes crossed for your husband. Blogging should be the last item on your list of things to think about!
ReplyDeleteI think of you often and have been keeping both of you in my prayers. I hope he comes home soon. It is a lot of wear and tear on you. I will miss the blog crawl, but blogging has gotten too cumbersome. I don't know how to describe it. Some keep churning posts out daily, bless their hearts. I just don't have it anymore. Maybe one day. Who knows? Take good care and be safe with this storm, which we need like a hole in the head.
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear from you again, Kathleen. I'm sorry to hear about your husband, I know that is hard on you as well. Last year my husband also had a heart attack (while at his sister's funeral in LI, NY!) He is doing pretty good now, PTL! I didn't get my St. Pat's Day things down from the high shelf this year because it was in a big box high up on a shelf along with my Valentine's things and the box is too heavy for dh to lift! So I couldn't have participated in the blog roll anyway, they were always fun and good memories. I do have my Easter stuff down tho (because I could reach them.) Praying for you and your husband to have a new beginning with this Easter season! God Bless.
ReplyDeleteKatherine
Keep you and your husband in my prayers and I hope he's home soon.
ReplyDeleteOh, Kathleen, it was good to see your post come up on my email. I am so very sorry for the challenges you and your husband are facing right now. As a cardiac patient myself, I know the journey you are on. But, I also know that the advancement in cardiac medicine is so wonderful right now that there will be brighter days ahead for both of you. And your husband WILL be himself again!! You are both in my prayers.

P.S. Loved your bouquet and tablescape. You've been missed.
It was so nice to see a post from you pop up in my email, Kathleen. You both are in my prayers, and I so hope that your hubby will be able to come home soon. Love and blessings are sent to you....
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to see a post from you this crisp Sunday morning. Both you and Mike have been in my prayers, and I hope he is able to be home soon. xx
ReplyDeleteI always think of you this time of year Kathleen, it was nice to hear from you. I'm sorry your plate has been so full lately, I hope dh can come home soon...

So good to see a post but I'm sorry yo know your husband hasn't been well. Prayers for his continued improvement. Happy Birthday! What a beautiful arrangement! It's still wintry in northern Michigan- spring will be here on the calendar but not where we live! Please take care- keeping you in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear that things are difficult for you. I know how consuming it can be caring for a loved one. Please allow a bit of time for yourself, and try to see the beauty in every day.
ReplyDeleteKathleen, I always think of you when March arrives. Sending thoughts and prayers your way and hope your DH comes home soon. Happy Birthday ♥
ReplyDeleteKathleen, I am guilty of blog reading and not commenting. I just wanted you to know that I love how you clip garden flowers and make little centerpieces for your tablescapes...something so simple that adds so much to the table. And I am always amazed at how many Irish soda breads you make for Baptisms and other family occasions. Your family is very Blessed by what you do and those of us in blog land are blessed as well.
ReplyDeleteNo every day may be a good day, but there is good in every day.
Adding my prayers for your husband.
Stay safe with this impending snowstorm.
Kathleen, I have checked in on you a few times and wondered where you were. So glad you posted to give us an update. Will be praying for your husband and you as well. That is a lot of travel back and forth to the hospital and so stressful. Wishing you comfort and good days ahead!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely soft green in your flowers & table, Kathleen! We completely understand why you won't be holding the blog stroll this year. You've got your heart & hands full at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI continue to pray for your sweetheart & I hope he can come home very soon.
Do be super careful about going to see him till this awful snowstorm is done & gone.
I'll be thinking of you! Take care of yourself, Hon.
So glad to see a March post from you, Kathleen. We have been getting snow since last night and I know your forecast isn't the best so stay safe knowing that Mike is well cared for until he returns home to you. I pray that will be very soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathleen,
ReplyDeleteGosh, it's good to see a post from you. Like Mary said, I always think of you when March rolls around, but other times too. I'm so very sorry that your dear husband has been sick, and it must have been exhausting to drive three hours to the hospital every day. So glad for your sake that he's closer now.
We all miss you A LOT, but we always know that your family comes first. Oh, before I forget, your birthday flowers are gorgeous, and Happy Birthday to you! Thanks for updating us, Kathleen, and I will be praying for your and your husband.
Warm hugs,
Denise at Forest Manor
Feel so bad for you Kathleen and also for Mike. Indeed, you are both going through a very difficult time right now and my prayers are for you. You have set the perfect St Patrick's table under the circumstances. Would be so wonderful to sit at it and have a cuppa with you. Though we will miss the annual blog crawl you always hosted, the St Patrick's tablescapes and decor we create will be done in honour of it and you. Happy belated birthday my friend. Take care and hang in there.

Kathleen,
ReplyDeleteYour hubby AND YOU will be in our prayers for sure. I am so sorry you have had a bad start to the year..I just pray that things will get better soon! We will have company on St.Pat's day and we will keep you in our blessing! I have been thinking about you as I haul out what "greenery" I own...washed the green "boopie" glasses today, and determined to find you as soon as I sat down. So many blessings to you and may St.P bring you a golden charm!

Hi Kathleen,
ReplyDeleteI've been absent from the blogging world all year and it's been a long one for us already, but I wanted to check in to say I'm praying for you and your hubby. I hope you didn't get too much snow and ice yesterday. We had about 16" and then some ice but it's really not too bad. All plowed now, but more messiness coming this weekend.
I'll be thinking of you on St. Patrick's Day and remembering all the fun you gave us with your crawls!
Linda
Good to see a post from you, Kathleen, sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. I hope he recovers soon, and sending prayers your way. I haven't blogged in soo very long, but I was popping by to see what everyone else contributed this year to your wonderful hop. It certainly will be missed! Your flowers look darling and perfect for the season...even if the weather disagrees! :)
ReplyDeleteMother nature is definitely confused--here in Southern CA, we began our Spring with scorching temps this week in the 90s!
Hoping things improve for you very soon.
Happy St. Paddy's Day to you! It is always such a treat to visit you! Have a grand day!
ReplyDeleteKathleen, I wanted to let you know how very sorry I am to hear how ill your husband has been. I pray for you both and that he may have a quick recovery. Hope to hear he is back home soon. Keeping you in thoughts and prayers..........
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see you back even for a moment. I know it has been a tough period for you and I hope all continues to get better. I often have you in my thoughts and am always glad when you check in.
ReplyDeleteI'm very sorry to learn about your husband and he will certainly be in my thoughts and prayers as you will be also. I hope he will be back home before long. It has to be stressful for you so please take care of yourself as well.
