Failte (welcome) to Tablescape Thursday!
Please visit Susan's lovely blog, Between Naps on the Porch to see the other tables entered this week...
This week, next and of course on the 17th, the theme will be GREEN!
Tonight I used white dishes, Clermont, the cup and the bowl have a little foot on them that I like...and they are inexpensive..
The glasses are Lenox..
The centerpiece is from Christmas Tree Shops..
Napkin rings and napkins were gifts, I have had them for years...
And for dessert, a little piece of O'Pear Tart....
Warm from the oven, with a dollop of fresh whipped cream...
Recipe..
3 large pears, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
Sprinkle the pears with cinnamon sugar
Press a puff pastry dough into a tart pan..
Arrange the pears, brush with preserves, I used apricot..
Bake..
This plate, a gift from a dear friend...you can bake your soda bread in it..if you'd like..♣
Thank you for coming, and don't forget, you are all invited to the St.Patrick's Day Party on the 17th..
Mr. Linky will be up the night before..anything to celebrate St. Patrick...♣
Kathleen, I like this post... nice and cheerful! Looking forward to your party. Nice tart!
ReplyDeleteLovely tablescape, I love the fresh colors! Beautiful little touches here and there of shamrocks, not overdone, just right! Thanks so much for sharing! ~Katy
ReplyDeletePhew, thank God I'm Irish and I get to celebrate all month as well. (Well, half Irish anyway - when I was little mom taught me to say that I'm half Irish and half German but the better half is Irish.)
ReplyDeleteKen has seen my "green" package that will go into the car to take tomorrow morning on our vacation in Florida :) Just a few festive goodies to liven up our rental condo! I'm not a blogger but I'll send you a photo, Kathleen. I'm thinking that pear tart would be easy enough even for me and we'll be having a bit of company down there and I already have those little green shamrocks to decorate it with - thanks for the easy recipe Kathleen! I'm not much of a desserter and I never know what to make for company and I always want it to be easy!
Your pear tart look fabulous! I wish I could have a bite right now!
ReplyDeleteI love your shamrock header and of course your green theme tablescape. Very lovely, indeed.
Now, that's an inviting tablescape. I really want a piece of that juicy apple pie! Well done.

ReplyDeleteI have no artistic talent/creativity with table scapes. I'll have to lurk, here, and try to learn by example.
I LOVE your pear tart recipe. Very easy, and I have puff pastry in my freezer. Thank you!
