Welcome to Let's Dish #12, the place where we talk tables and notice napkins!
You are welcome to link up one entry, dish or table related, blog name first.
Last week a few forgot to link back to this post, that is required.
I started off thinking I would do a table for 2 at my little bistro table.
I used the aqua paisley dishes I got in HG last year, and the flatware I got there recently, 9.99.
Aqua placemat from CTS, 1.00, rattan charger from Pfaltzgraf dollar days sale, 2.00. lace edged plate CTS over 3 years ago,.
Napkin rings from Pottery Barn Outlet, I think they were .25 in the sidewalk sale. Paisley napkins I made from dish towels, and the inner striped ones I have had forever!
Aqua stem again, really old, and the centerpiece is an aqua vase or candle holder from HG, 2.00 . I cut some white rhodies for it.
Cozy, huh?
Well, a little too crowded!
So I moved to the bigger table that was my original plan until my fourth aqua napkin ring went missing!
Okay, now we can spread out!
I added a cabbage leaf plate for rolls and butter, an aqua tumbler from the .99 store where I found those Anhtropologie glasses, and a white pitcher.
The birdies landed again for our salt and pepper, and I used a striped napkin and lacy plate under the flowers.
I love this white dish, very versatile. Bread, meats, vegetables, salads can be served from it. I got it in the Dansk Outlet maybe 10 years ago.
Let's Eat!
Strawberry Cheese Layer cake goes light.
Well lighter than strawberry cheesecake! :)
Place a layer of lady fingers in the dish.
Spread chocolate icing on them, pipe cream cheese icing. Slice the strawberries sprinkled with sugar down the middle.
Put the top layer on, repeat the process. Drizzle with the chocolate icing.
Add a dab of the cream cheese icing to each strawberry .
Chill and cut into individual servings.
My cream cheese icing recipe is one 8 oz pkg of cream cheese softened , a stick of margarine, vanilla and sugar to taste.
Enjoy!
Looking forward to seeing your dish collections or tables tonight.
If you show food, you have to show a place setting with it. Thanks!

I Love your aqua summer table for two. NOW if we could ONLY GET our temps above 60 and the daily storms to ease up a bit WE COULD PICNIC! Okay I KNOW I'm going to be punished for saying that(the temps will NOW SOAR into the 3digit mark)
ReplyDeleteI (((LOVE)))your recipe for us today! So easy YET PERFECT! and how pretty in the DISH you used...
Thank you for sharing and hosting,
Have a fun week,
Big Hugs,
Donna
Kathleen, is your computer time OFF...My computer is reading RIGHT for EST, BUT the time on your post and when I posted is WEST COAST TIME???
ReplyDeleteI have nothing to do with that, Donna. :)
DeleteThe link up starts at 7.
My computer is showing the right time, so I don't know what's up with that! Just ignore it! :)
DeleteHi Kathleen, I love your aqua scape! Your dessert looks amazing. So artistic. I am just visiting this week but will join next week. xo
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara,
DeleteVisiting is good! Thanks for coming by!
Yummy dessert and beautiful aqua table, Kathleen. I have the same flatware, HG 9.99.
ReplyDeleteI have my beach table in draft and ready to go on the 20th. Back in a bit to link up this week's table on the back porch.
I love your aqua & white layers! I hate it when those napkin rings don't behave :) Your flatware is perfect, I didn't spy that at my HG...I wouldn't have been able to pass it up! Your strawberries and lady fingers dessert looks so tempting~ perfect in your white grape dish! Thanks for hosting this week!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathleen, I couldn't miss another party at your place so I am back tonight! Your dessert looks absolutely delicious and I am starving. No fattening recipes in the summertime! Beach time is coming! But that does look good and so easy too. Your table is the perfect aqua blue beach color that I love. I do like little tables for cozy times but they are really hard to do for tablescapes. Not enough room for all the little goody accessories. Today's crazy rain/sun weather is not good for my migraines, but I'm hoping to last through the posts tonight and visit them all. I'm blog-craving after missing so many! Linda
ReplyDeleteHey, Kathleen! I really like that dish from Dansk. That looks like an extremely versatile piece, and the fact that it's white make it that much more so. I saw something today at Home Goods that was a similar shape, but it wasn't nearly as pretty as yours. I'm going to keep my eyes open! So is the Pottery Barn Outlet an actual store near you or is it something online? I never knew any such store existed!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is a Pottery Barn Outlet and. Williams Sonoma Outlet store about 45 min from here. Google them, maybe there is one near you!
DeleteKathleen, First I'm sorry I didn't read the instructions to use my blog name first. I'd fix it but don't know how. Sorry, I'll get it right next time, or if you want to "kick it out", I'll re-link it.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love your aqua and white tablescape. It's so cool and refreshing. You always find the cutest things for your table. The lady finger dessert looks delicious and easy to make and the dish from Dansk is perfect for it.
Thanks so much for hosting.
It's ok! You'll get used to it!
Delete, :)
Pretty table -- you know I love aqua about as much as hot pink. That dessert is too pretty to eat -- I'll bet you removed most of the calories, though, so I would probably force myself. Thanks again for the flatware!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty table...I ♥ aqua almost as much as I do green.
ReplyDeleteThat dessert looks yummy!
Thanks for hosting, K.
I can't believe I did it again! Or should I say I didn't do it again. I forgot my blog name. Am I going to be asked politely to leave the party? I hope not. I always seem to be rushing home from somewhere on Wednesdays at 7pm. That's my only excuse, not that I'm getting older and more forgetful. I will butter you up by saying how much I love your agua table. That white dish is great and even better with that dessert in it! Thanks for hosting!

DeleteGreat table K and I'll have a (maybe not so) ladylike sized slice of dessert-very pretty:@)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty table, Kathleen! Both of them! I love the fresh blue colors with white. Your cake is just decadent (and gorgeous)!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
I love your blue and paisley, Kathleen. The platter with your fabulous dessert is what is stunning!! Wish I could go bargain shopping with you.
ReplyDeleteAfter getting to the lady finger cake, I nearly forgot what I was going to say about the table. That really looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteI love the table too, though! That happens to be one of my favorite shades of blue, and it's just perfect for the summertime. I love the linens and napkin rings, and I would really love some of that flatware. It's all just as happy looking as can be.
I don't have a full table this week. Just didn't get it up there. I did share my centerpiece, though. If that's not OK, I won't be offended if you delete the link.
Hope to be back full throttle soon!
Centerpieces arebgood, Debbie! It is table related and we love seeing them!
DeleteVery pretty table with the soft aqua, even the flatware is matching. The dessert on your beautiful platter looks amazing and decadent. Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeletecozy dining for two is romantic!! But either table is quite lovely. The colors are so refreshing for this time of year. I love the dessert platter and the dessert!!! Now that is something I can do. I hope you don't mind that i pinned it! thanks so much for hosting.. have a great week, xo marlis
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marlis! I don't mind at all!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! I love the colors, so cool! The dessert looks so tempting, so prettily displayed. Yum!...Christine
DeleteOh Kathleen! I forgot to put my blog name in! Go ahead, give me fifty lashes with a wet noodle! I will come back to comment on your tablescape!
ReplyDeleteLove that dessert idea with the lady fingers! Beautiful table setting Kathleen!
ReplyDeleteI think that's a pretty tablescape no matter which table you use! I love the aqua. You always blow my mind with the bargains you find. And....that cake. Holy smokes, that looks too delicious for words!
ReplyDeleteYou and your sister! :)
ReplyDeleteYou can just put your name if you want. A name is just easier to remember than Flowers and Birdies, etc!
I love these colors! So cool and relaxing looking. Now that dessert, oh girl, that looks scrumptious! Yum!!
ReplyDeleteWhat refreshing aqua! It makes me smile. :-)
ReplyDeleteKathleen, love the aqua color. It is a cooling respite for the hot days of summer. Love the mix of patterns in the napkins and the new flatware. The stack of plates ~ wonderful! I'm definitely going to make this dessert. It looks easy and very pretty. Thanks for hosting! ~ sarah
ReplyDeleteYour Tiffany aqua table looks so cool and pretty, Kathleen. Perfect for summer. I love your lady finger, chocolate and strawberry and cream cheese icing dessert-- so simple and yet so elegant.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your compliments on my daughter's wedding and best wishes for the new couple. We are on "Cloud 9" with happiness!
Kathleen:
ReplyDeleteYou know I love your blog and love your tables. I'm a long fan, so consider where this is coming from. I think this is my all time favorite table. The bistro table is so white and crisp against the aqua. I was with you when you got your bargain plates and your execution is flawless.

Kathleen,
ReplyDeleteMr. LInky is doing strange things to my link this evening. It adds something to the end of the address which causes the background and sidebar information to disappear. It simply has a white background as if I were in the draft mode. I deleted the link multiple times, tried again, only to have the same thing happen. I finally just put in my blog address. That worked, but it obviously isn't linked to the specific post. What to do???
I got to your blog fine, Sarah. I see what you mean though. My sidebar etc is gone too. Must be a blogger issue!
DeleteAnd now it is back again!
DeleteOh I love this shade of blue. So very pretty. Your cake looks delish and I, too, love the serving dish.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting!
ReplyDeleteHi, Kathleen. So happy to be joining your party again! Thanks for hosting. Love, love, love your table--that is my FAVORITE color! I'll be waiting for you to do a giveaway of those two placesettings LOL!! And the recipe is wonderful! I love lady fingers--it always makes a dessert seem so much more refined. :) PS Love your header too--those hydrangeas in those tiny blue pots are precious! ~Zuni
ReplyDeleteI love your aqua table. My hubby wants a taste of the desert. All your dishes are fabulous! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table..as always. :)
ReplyDeleteThe strawberry cake...my goodness, it looks and sounds delightful.
Next themed table...THE BEACH ? Well, since we live hundreds of miles from a beach, I will have to pass on this one, too.
Have a good week, K.

Yes, I have noticed that the bistro tables are a little small too. I love your dish combination and the color is just wonderful. What a beautiful and simple dessert - that will definitely wow them!
ReplyDeleteOur bistro table is a little snug when I use chargers or placemats, so I just use a plate, flatware and a glass. Not very fancy I know :-) I have always loved paisley and the aqua is my favorite summer color! Joe likes the lady fingers, and often eats them plain Jane. Your dessert looks wonderful! Have a nice weekend, and thank you for hosting!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, I love these colors. So summery! The dessert looks not only delicious but very pretty. I'd have to eat a few of those lady fingers while I was preparing, love them!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathleen! As you can tell, absent mindedness runs in my family! Your table could not be prettier. I am always amazed at how you put things together and anyone would swear you bought it all in one store at one time! Aqua is certainly one of my favorite colors and paisley is my favorite design. You certainly found some great bargains, too. Hmm, I wonder if we will see any of these elements back for your beach-themed party! It reminds me of the ocean. I can't believe how simple that dessert is, when it looks like such a deliciously complicated one! Thanks for sharing AND hosting!
ReplyDeleteSome wnoderful likn ups this week! Sorry I didn't have "dishes" to join in with this week. Pam
ReplyDeleteAny leftovers?? I could be right there...
ReplyDeletePretty in aqua!
xo Cathy

ReplyDeleteWow...that looks wonderful and right up my alley as far as prep time!!
ReplyDeleteYour table is so summery..just perfect for that lazy summer day!
This table is sooo gorgeous Kathleen, and so inviting and fresh. I'm loving the color combo, aqua with white al fresco, wow! The dishes are gorgeous too and the food is yummy as always. Me...I had no time for tablescaping, inside or out, I'm working myself thin with the chores I have with the girls. Anyway, I've posted US!
ReplyDeleteLuv ya,

ReplyDeleteHi Kathleen - Yummo! Oh, and I love that adorable rectangular platter thingy. You always set the nicest tables with the nicest accessories. I think I'd go broke if I had all the wonderful outlets and thrift stores you seem to have. Always nice visiting - see you soon.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have a better eye for bargains than you? No wonder you have so many things with which to create just right tables. Dessert looks great. I have this thing with sugar....the more I try not to eat it, the more I want it! Happy day.
ReplyDeleteAwesome idea!!! i like the table set up

ReplyDeleteI love the beatuiful colors in this tablescape. Those paisley plates are beatufiul. And the dessert looks right up my alley! Thank you for sharing with us at TTF this week! Have a great day.
Love that aqua set and that dessert with the lady fingers is too pretty to eat. I've been gorging on strawberries all day. Even been feeding them to the dog:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Sunday to you my LI friend,
Carole
Beautiful blue table! Outstanding layered dessert....it looks so yummy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful aqua table. Aqua is so "in " this year, and yet, you've had most of your aqua for awhile = what a trend setter! Loe those lacy square plates too. You make that dessert sound so easy, but I know if I tried it, it would not look as pretty as yours. laurie
ReplyDeleteLove that pretty, aqua and it looks perfect for summer. I'm really impressed with that dessert though! Easy but elegant-looking.
