Flashback and Foodie Friday..

Well, it is almost midnight and I am just getting to this post..but it IS still Friday, and where Suzy, who I am joining for Flashback Friday lives, it is only 9:30!

I am Flashing back to my pre blog days..September to be exact. I hosted a 50th Anniv Party for dear friends. For the soup course I served a trio of soups..Chicken Orzo, Potato Leek or Butternut Squash..served in Cosmo glasses from WSonoma..outlet..of course. It was just the right amount and I could fit many on a tray which made it easy to serve...

  11. I adore the soup in the cosmo glasses! I'm considering a soup and appetizer party for next Christmas, and this will go into my 'food memory bank' as an idea.
    What a wonderful presentation.

  13. Kathleen,

Your soups sound grand, and your glasses are as cute as can be for that use! Great idea! I might just have to pinch that one.

And oh, if I lived near a WS Outlet, I would have to take in ironing to support my addiction!

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

Hi Kathleen...what a wonderful blog!! i'm so happy you stopped by mone because I may never have found you....First...can't believe you baked 50 loaves of banana bread! your paisley tablescape was so pretty and are your red dishes the Rooster dishes from Neiman Marcus?? I love those dishes and I was going to order two sets until I read that they had lead in them...I was a bit taken back by that.....I look forward to coming back and seeing all your other creations.....Sue @ Rue Mouffetard

  17. Love those little soups and what a great presentation.

Chicken fried steak is usually from round steak -- pounded thin, then dipped in flour, egg, flour and fried! Sometimes it is deep fried!

  19. What a wonderful hostess you are and I remember this party well. The soup in the glasses is such a good idea and your cake is too cute. Since it was pre-blogging you will have to show your beautiful tablesetting from the party someday as a flashback.
