The First Foodie Friday
Now what shall I make?
A big healthy salad
Or maybe a cake?
Perhaps I'll make Pastries
Or some pizza with cheese....
But if you like muffins,
Please try some of these..
*
You can eat more..now don't be a wimp..
I think you might like
This linguine with shrimp.
*
Getting full did you say..
I don't give a hoot..
You must have a piece..
Of this tart filled with fruit...
*
Come for a walk..
Our table is set on the deck
Have some of these
Go on, what the heck....
I know, yes, you're stuffed,
Not one more small bite?
Well then thank you for coming..
And have a good night.

Well, well, Kathleen... that is a smorgasbord! It all looks fantastic... and I love the flashback! And poetry too! Excellent!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! What an invitation! I love that shrimp dish one with the snowpeas. Those are my two fave ingredients in making Chinese food!
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Carolyn
My favorite poetress! I loved it all but the tablesetting out in the warm garden is making me wish it was summer. Don't get me wrong, I'll eat all that food but how much more I would enjoy it fresco :-)
ReplyDeleteThe food, the poetry, and the photos were DIVINE! Your garden is a little bit of heaven on earth. I'm so glad you came to the potluck--but do not expect to take home leftovers!! :-) You'll find me in the corner, licking the bowls.
ReplyDelete:-)
Kathleen, what a lovely Flashback Friday post! You're so entertaining and quite the hostess.
ReplyDeleteI could eat LOTS of all of it.
The ending of you poem/post with the photo of a sunset is gorgeous (and cleaver poem, too).

ReplyDeletelooking mighty irish here~
Loved the poem, and your food is sublime. Ate my way through your blog with glee! We're happy that we left LI,(Stony Brook), but your photos of the water make me a tad wistful...not homesick, just wistful. I don't miss the LIE or the traffic whenever we tried to leave the island. Don't miss the frizzy hair because of the high humidity, but I do miss LI Sound and the ocean! I'll be stopping back frequently for a whiff of salt air...Nancy
ReplyDeleteThis is all wonderful! ♥ Diane
ReplyDeleteKathleen, I helped myself to some of each (then went back for more), and now I find it difficult to fit through any door! ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated FF!
XO,
Sheilla :-)
Oh, this is just the cutest, most delectable post. I'll have some of each...maybe two.
