Have you been busy baking for your Valentine????
Are you working hard planning a romantic dinner for 2???
Have you been reading the latest articles about how to make the evening wonderful??
Maybe a special bottle of wine?? This one is really special.
See the label?? Valentino Vineyards ! No, not Rudolph Valentino, my friends, Gail and Carl…Gail stomps the grapes herself, not bad for an Irish gal! :)
Even better..they were married on Valentine’s Day..long time ago..in a SNOW STORM… She became a Valentino on Valentine's Day...I remember it well. My strappy high heels getting all wet in the snow!
Will you make a special ♥ cake, deep, dark moist chocolate ??
No?????
Me either..:)
But I did set the table for Tablescape Thursday, hosted by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch..please stop in and see her table Wed. night..and all the other entries this week.
I used these pretty napkins sent to me by my friend Kay from the Holiday Forum. I have been waiting for a special occasion to use them..Thanks, Kay!
I took one of my lion’s head bowls and used it as a base for some pretty pink flowers, with some pink velvety hearts stuck in…
The pink and white cloth is a duvet I bought to use on tables. The other side you will see at some future date..:)
The pink glasses have a little stem and scalloped edge..They are from Lenox..
The clear stems have a tulip shape and are from Dansk.Pink heavy cotton placemat, white ceramic charger, Noritake, white hearts were a gift from Gail last year.
I used my mother’s everyday silver from my last post.
Heart shaped pink bells hold the polka dot place card.
White pitcher by Godinger, candlesticks are Mikassa, they were a gift from a little boy in my class many years ago. I put some of those silver hearts underneath.
The pink dotted plates are from Christmas Tree Shops, a few weeks ago.
The heart shaped mini casserole is from CTS, as well as the little pots of roses.. Don’t you just ♥ a bargain? (that’s their motto in their ads) :)
I know I am early for this, but we are supposed to get a nor’easter tomorrow, and who knows if the cable will stay on!
Thanks so much for visiting, I’ll be back for Foodie Friday and of course Laurie’s big party .
Oh, your table setting is gorgeous! I love your new napkins and those pretty dishes! I'd love to sit here. Be a sweetie,
ReplyDeleteShelia ;)
Kathleen, I really, really like your table, pink dishes, tablecloth, flowers and all! I am even getting so I like pink more than I did a few months ago...used some in my TT this week, too.
ReplyDeleteKathleen - I love your table. Tomorrow is my parents 65th anniversary! I'll have to pretend that they're enjoying a dinner at your table.
ReplyDeleteIn actuality, they'll be at home alone and because of the storm (which has started just within the last hour here in NJ - at approx (9:00) I won't be going to visit them tomorrow. That's okay, because after 65 years I guess they've got it all figured out :)
Fabulous table setting. I love the pink polkadot plate and the napkins are very pretty. You set a lovely table. Happy Valentine's Day...Kim
ReplyDeleteI'll be on a plane on Valentines Day so I won't be cooking! Love your table. The polka dots and stripes are great!!
ReplyDeleteKathleen, you always set a gorgeous table! And what a sweet way to do shrimp cocktail. You always have such great ideas, so well presented.
ReplyDeleteStay warm and dry for the big storm! They already canceled the children's school and work!
Best,
Stephanie
Kathleen this is such a pretty tablesetting. I love the soft pink colors and all your lovely accessories. The heart shaped
ReplyDeleteplates are too cute. When I was
at CTS last week and saw the Polka
Dot Plates...I smiled, because I just knew you'd have them. They look wonderful, especially with those lovely napkins.
This is really a very romantic, sweet and adorable Valentine's table, Kathleen. I like all the pinks in it. And the food! So many great ideas. I especially like how the shrimp are arranged in a heart....Christine

ReplyDeleteYour make every tablescape beautiful and I always enjoy seeing your creativity. What cute heart-shaped bells!
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a story about your friend, Gail! She doesn't really stomp the grapes herself, does she? I have visions of Lucille Ball in my head!
Katleen your pretty pink tablescape is so beautifully feminine. You always put everyhting together so well.
ReplyDeleteSo far the snow storm hasn't been too bad...more coming later, however, so I hope I'm not jinxing myself.
XO Pat
PS Does Gail and hubby own a vineyard on the north fork or east end? It's on my agenda to visit a vineyard this summer.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my new blog! Your Valentine's post is just the absolute best! Do you know if Christmas Tree Shops is online? I don't think I have ever seen one, and I keep seeing the cutest dishes on the blogs from there. I have been looking forever for a few pink things, and cannot seem to find any here in the Heart of Dixie.

ReplyDeleteThe shrimp arranged in a heart on a bed of lettuce with the red cocktail sauce in the middle is just brilliant. May I benchmark this? It's just perfect along with all the rest of your pink.

Kathleen, I love all the polka dots on the polka dot background. ... You're definitely getting good use out of the lions-head soup tureen. ... The cookies and the cake look delicious, but the shrimp is calling my name. ... A very pretty post.
ReplyDeleteTo begin with, the shrimp thing is brilliant. I'm using that idea FOR SURE. And when I get compliments, I'm not mentioning your name.
