Not Silk, But Wicker…

I bought this wicker top hat , and wanted to use it as a centerpiece..

Blog Labor 228

I had hoped for fresh flowers, but  Mr. Cuisine, ( that cracks me up ..he no way wants to be Mr. Cuisine..he has never even looked at this blog!) came back from Sams Club, an hour away with a report that they didn't have what I wanted..:(.

So I had some faux, and took apart an old silver twig and silver berry  wreath I was going to ditch anyway!..I replaced his plaid hat band with a silver one.  It will have to do..

Placed a dollar store snowflake underneath

Black tablecloth and napkins…napkins are Lenox..tied with a silver snowflake ribbon..

  7. Kathleen-Love your table, especially the bows on the napkins and the recipe sounds divine--I'll eat anything with spinach and mozarella! At least "Mr. Cuisine" is looking for flowers for your tablescape. "Mr Rainbow" doesn't even know I have a blog.:)

  8. Seeing the top hat, I fully expected to see Fred Astaire sitting at your table! What a fun, yet sophisticated table. I noticed the little crystal condiment dish is being used tonight. Thanks for sharing.

  31. This is great! I really like the hat centerpiece! It works out perfect. I am probably going to have to use fake flowers next week too. I have been noticing it is hard to tell they're not real unless it is really a close-up. :)

  34. I hope I don't post this comment twice. I'm not sure my first one posted. Wanted to make sure you know that I think this tablescape is gorgeous. I love the white and the sparkly on that black tablecloth. So elegant and inviting. I told Marty it didn't matter if our parties were on the same day, but she changed the cloche party to the 19th after she saw that I had previously announced the V'tine party for the 12th. Thanks for promoting the parties! laurie

  38. Puttin on the Ritz is the way to go. Love your top hat center piece. I think Ginger and Fred should be dancing around your table. I see from your other posts you have been shopping again. I find zilch at my local thrift store. I should look at my own storage locker and see what goodies I have hidden in boxes that I can use for Valentines day before I shop in the stores. Off to play with my FLOUR!

  39. Love what you did with the top hat...it's so cute...You need to make Mr. Cuisine wear it and post HIS picture on the blog....then he'll read it!!
