Tablescape Thursday
Now Bloggers dear, I’m sure you’ve heard
St. Patrick’s Day is near
So welcome to this Irish Crawl
It’s in its 7th year!
Lots of GREEN will flood your screen
Please get up and do a jig
Be you Italian, French, or German
Or as IRISH as Paddy’s Pig!
From Kansas to Ohio
And Kerry to County Cork
We’ll celebrate dear Ireland
Starting here, Long IRELAND, New York!
Please have some Irish Chips
They’re GREEN but not too fancy
You know they’ll be delicious
Because they’re made by Clancy!
Please warm up at the table,
Relax and take a seat
We’ll sing some Irish songs
They’ll make you tap your feet!
A table in your honor
So glad to have you here
Crawl on, crawl on to other blogs
Leave comments of good cheer!

ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patricks Day.
First to arrive, last to go home? :)
DeleteKathleen! 7 already, wow! I'm so glad I can participate this year. Love the layered table setting with the checkered napkins. Pretty. I would love one of those minty shamrocks right now. Those icicles are amazing. No one should walk underneath them for sure. It's always fun to see your Irish offerings!
ReplyDeleteThank you dear, Ellen! I think you were here for year one! I must go back and see how many from then are still jigging!
DeleteLove the poetry and the beautiful table. Happy St. Patrick's Day, Kathleen!...Christine
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christine!
DeleteWow, Kathleen, where have seven years gone by?? I remember your first blog crawl and now it is your lucky seventh! I love all your photos and I wish I had both those potato chips and your chocolate shamrocks right this minute--lol! My great niece is also an Irish dancer on Long Island and has won many awards. She enjoyes it very much! Happy Saint Patrick's day to you and your family! Hugs, Pat
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how quickly 7 years went by, Brooklyn Pat! My nieces did step dancing for many years, before they wore those wigs! Good exercise. My sis and her dh go all over doing Caeli dancing. They go back to Ireland every year for lessons! Happy SPD to you all the way across the country!
DeleteSuch a fun post! From the poem, to the darlin' high-steppers, the gorgeous tables (especially the tartan in your header and centerpiece!), those adorable striped socks, the delicious-looking treats, I love it all. Congrats on hosting a beautiful party for SEVEN years, and thank you for being a gracious host!
ReplyDeleteThank you, PP! Those socks are over 35 yrs old! I am a saver!
DeleteThanks for hosting this wonderful "blog crawl" once again, Kathleen! Fantastic poem! I'm enjoying one of your choc shamrock cookies and a piece of Irish soda bread while warming up (eewww, those icicles!) at your lovely St. Paddy's t'scape - love the cabbage plates, stemware and centerpiece! I'd better get up and do an Irish jig when I'm done visiting with all your guests as I see some of them will have snacks for me too! Thinking of you and hoping things are getting better.
ReplyDeleteDD/Lori

DeleteHi Kathleen, I am back just so I could join this wonderful party!! I LOVE your table! I think it is my favorite of all the tables you have ever used to inspire us! We need more posts from you. Your poem is hilarious and I did get up to do a jig, or at least what passes for one here. I can't wait to visit everyone tonight. Happy St. Patty's week! Linda
ReplyDeleteHope you are jigging right out of all this snow! Thank you for your kind words. I actually saw a patch of green on the lawn today, that's a good sign!
DeleteThanks for all the St. Paddy's Day fun Kathleen and starting us off with a minty chocolate shamrock!
ReplyDeleteYes, I wanted everyone to be minty fresh as they blog crawl, Mary! Thanks for joining in!
DeleteWow, has it been 7 years?! Thanks for hosting, Kathleen. Beautiful green table...wondered when you would use the cabbage dishes, should have known you were saving them for SPD.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of the week.
Thanks, Marigene. I know you love green, so you are in your element. Yes, I saved the dishes for St. Patrick's Day. I am running out of showing of the green things. I know you have the cabbage plates in so many colors, I am jealous! :) I wonder who has the topper? :)
DeleteKathleen, once more you have set the most "Irish" table of all. Oh, how I love all of your Shamrocks and cabbages (plate, of course!). I think my favorites, though, are those wonderful napkin rings that you sister gave you. They look adorable around those gingham napkins. Your poetry is always a "hit", too. Thanks for letting all of us join into the fun!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diane! I feel like this is a reunion, so many old friends joining in! My birthday is in early March, so my gifts have always been Irish themed. And, I am old, so I have a lot of Irish things, including freckles...or are they age spots? :)
DeleteOoh Kathleen, your table looks so festive all decked out for some St. Paddy's fun. You find the best dishes at CTS! I love your centerpiece and your cute toadstool place card holders. Of course, green checked napkins add a cute touch with your new green flatware. Yes please, I'd love a chocolate mint with a cup of tea before I do the blog crawl. Thank you for hosting your annual event! Slainte'!
ReplyDeleteHi Kitty! Flatware is old, dishes are new, lol! Would love to share a cup of tea with you! Happy SPD to you in TX!
DeleteWhat fun Kathleen! I LOVE your poem and your Irish dancers! Your table looks very lucky indeed and a chocolate shamrock and some Clancy's Irish potato chips sound very good right now! Thank you for hosting this special event, 7 years, wow, that is something to celebrate! We will be celebrating our granddaughter's 2nd birthday on St. Patrick's Day, she is our pot of gold!
ReplyDeleteJenna
You'll never find a better pot of gold than a grandchild! Happy Bday to her, what a great date to be born. Thanks for your kind words!
DeleteYour Saint Patrick's Day tables are as lovely as ever. Everything from start to finish is beautiful. The girls look pretty in their costumes and your socks rock! I am looking forward to each and every wonderful post from each and every partier! (That may take a while though) Enjoy your evening..... Candy
ReplyDeleteCandy, that's great! Take you time and enjoy them all!
DeleteI'm so glad you are back, you have really been missed! Thanks for hosting and for inspiration, I can't think of anything new to do for 'scapes anymore, I hope you'll continue to inspire us monthly! Cute poem! You always have such cute dishes and stuff to work with. Where did you find those shamrock mints? I'll grab one on the way out, love 'em!
ReplyDeleteKatherine
I made them, K. Mold from Michael's and the mint chocolate melts. Thanks you for missing me. Maybe Spring will inspire my blogging.
DeleteBeautiful table. Love those shamrock dishes and your stemware is gorgeous. Score!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bev!
DeleteHow I've missed your posts, Kathleen. You make the Blog Crawl so much fun. Love your poem - especially Long Ireland! I envy your cabbage plates. I've wanted some forever, but sadly, no place to put any more dishes at my house. I'll have to get rid of some. I want a CTS near me. I also want one (or 2 or 3) of those chocolate mint shamrocks. Thank you for the party.
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet Laurie, I remember the first time I went to your blog! You are quite the poet yourself! Remember the post you did about the bakery in the grocery store? Too funny!
DeleteI did clear out some dishes for the cabbage set. I am trying to get rid of things, keeping the things I use most. I bought those in the Fall, haven't bought any dishes since! Thanks for joining in!
What a visual feast for my green Irish eyes! LOVE it! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diana! Happy SPD!
DeleteIt lifts my spirits to see everyone participating in the fun blog party every year, Kathleen! Thanks so much for hosting it again & again. I was really looking forward to it & will try to visit as many as I can. Ern's funeral Mass is this weekend, so I haven't really felt much like blog hopping.
ReplyDeleteYour tables are glorious & those chocolate mint shamrocks look divine! So does the bread!!!!
You always do it up right & have so much pride in our mutual heritage.
Oh, I wanted to tell you my oldest grandson, who is on Spring break during his first year of college, SAVED a man from drowning in a rip tide today in FL!!!! He swims competition for both his high school & now college & he heard a woman screaming for help. He lept over the dock railing & swam out to save her husband...a BIG guy, 6'+ tall & built. I am SOOO proud of my grandson & I just know my Ernie was watching over him as he struggled to bring that man to safety. Proud Irish, is right!!!
That is wonderful, Rett! God bless him! I will be thinking of you during this difficult time. Thanks for joining even with a heavy heart!
DeleteThanks for hosting this again! I have to get my sweet husband fed, then I will visit the beautiful tables. Those mint shamrocks have me craving chocolate mint!

DeleteHi Kathleen, Your table is just terrific!! You really scored at the CTS! I love the cabbage plates (and bowls). I have some plates and would love to have bowls, too. My favorite things on your table are your cabbage bowls, place mats (so pretty!), the gingham napkins, and the gorgeous green stemware. ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say hello and let you know that I am enjoying all of the wonderful tables!!! I have been watching for this post for a while, and then almost missed it :^0
I have those same green plates...gotta' find them so I can set a table for hubby and me.
Hope things will warm up for you soon...you have been blasted this year!
Blessings to you,
Jaybird from Texas
Kathleen, you are the Queen of St. Patrick's Day. Always a great post, and clever poem. So sad not to have participated, but was sick the past two weeks. Felt so drained and had a bad cough. Drove me nuts! But I am going to enjoy the crawl now!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better, Barbara, and thanks for stopping by!
DeleteIs it really the 7th year you've hosted this fun event? I'm late to the party, but I did make it in appreciation of you. I'd sure go for one of your chocolate shamrocks right now as I'm craving a sweet. Hope the sun is shining in your Irish eyes.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lulu. You are not late, we are still crawling a few more days. Happy SPD!
DeleteGoodness, I hope I'm not THAT LATE for the party! I hosted a dinner party for 15 members of our family Wed. night and I've been cooking and cleaning before and after! The reason was our 40th. wedding anniversary at Las Vegas, Nevada.
ReplyDeleteHere I am never the less to join you and celebrate along St. Patty's Day.
Thanks so much Kathleen, you know how I love your challenges!
Hugs and a happy weekend.
