Good evening, welcome to the start of the Christmas Parade of Dishes! Many towns start the season with a parade, so why not our holiday dishes?
I am using Lenox Tartan tonight, with a gold charger, and gold trimmed flatware by Wallace.
The tablecloth is from Home Goods, and picked up some of the colors in the plate.
I used a wreath to surround the antique cream soup bowls by Noritake. My friend Marigene from In the Middle of Nowhere sent them to me a few years ago. They are trimmed in gold like the plate.
A burgundy napkin from CTS is held by the gold ring from Target. The gold ornament place card holder is from Michael's.
The centerpiece is a sugared fruit wreath with a set of battery operated lights woven through.
I used a large hurricane filled with little pine cones and a candle in the middle.
The stemware is an an etched glass trimmed with gold.
I got the plates at the Lenox Outlet. They have a sale every year, and they are 10 dollars a plate, then I use my coupon for another 20 off. I only have dinner plates, as I have the full service of Lenox Christmas Eternal that I use for formal dinners. I just loved these though, so I have bought a few every year.
Hope your holiday preparations are going well. They are a snail's pace here!
Have you started your holiday baking yet?
A stack of cookies in a cute mug, this one has a cover, makes a cute gift.
Tied with a bow, and an ornament from WS outlet, makes it even better!
Time to start the parade of plates, bring on Christmas!
Please remember to visit as many as you can, NO WORD ID, sorry, but I remove those who have it, one link, blog name first. I'd love if you left a comment for me too! Please link back to this party.
Thanks so much for your visit!
I am joining Yvonne for TTT at Stone Gable. Susan for Tablescape Thursday, Rattlebridge Farm for Foodie Friday
Let's Dish!
I love Tartan and would love have a little bit more than I have. Five mugs, that is it. Your table is beautiful, Kathleen.
ReplyDeleteUPS arrived late into the night, bringing gifts for Xanti and fiance Kyle...and a couple of gifts for me. Amaryllis salad plates...Mikasa Italian Country side and four red wine glasses. I feel an Amaryllis table unfolding!:-)
Kathleen~ I adore your Lenox Tartan and it looks beautiful against the rich colors and pattern of your tablecloth! Christmas decorating is moving at a very messy snail's pace here :) Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteSanta's elf (me) was wrapping grandkids presents all day. My bedroom is a madhouse but I was able to pull away and do a table. It is so exciting to be starting Christmas tables already. We have the house done and I have even done some candy already. I just turn on the Christmas music and have fun! I love your table. Red anything is just perfect for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteLove the gold and red, Kathleen. It's fun to have those little wreaths around the soup cups. I hope to be more of a regular again now that most of our book deadlines are behind me. Hope all is well at your house. I have started doing a little decorating...
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Hey, Kathleen! You are very smart to buy a few of those classic dinner plates each year. Get 'em while the gettin' is good! I have been trying to do that with a couple of "good" patterns I own, too. Piecemealing it doesn't put a dent in ye olde pocketbook all at once, PLUS you get the discount. Gotta love it! What a nice gift from Marigene! She's a sweetheart! Very pretty, m'love! You are most definitely in the Christmas spirit!!! I hope things are picking up out there. I haven't heard anything more about the gas lines, etc. I know the clean up is still ongoing and will be for months to come, not to mention trying to mend the heartache.
ReplyDeleteNo more gas lines, A. The rationing has been lifted.
DeleteYes, the clean up will be years. There is one parkway that may never get rebuilt.
Thanks for the good thoughts for those poor people who lost homes.
Oh My! This is gorgeous! Of course, I LOVE those dinner plates, and I'm going to have to remember to use some battery powered lights in a centerpiece some time. This is just such an elegant table. Thank you for hosting. laurie
ReplyDeleteLove those Lenox plates K! Your table is pretty and the tablecloth works so well with the plates! Most of my decorating is done, wish I could say the same about the shopping:@)
ReplyDeleteOh Kathleen, did you hear me gasp!! I love your dishes!! The Lenox china on those gold charges are just gorgeous and so elegant! Love your tablescape -every detail!!
ReplyDeleteMiss Bloomers
What a nice idea to stack the cookies in the adorable mug. Love that it has a cover. The Lenox plates are beautiful and I almost bought them too. Now that I know we have a Lenox, I will sign up for the coupons. Do you have to sign up at the store by filling something out? It's almost time for me to watch the tree lighting at Rockefeller Center ;o) A tradition!
ReplyDeleteYes, Debbie, fill out the form at the outlet and they will automatically send them to you.
DeleteBeautiful table, very festive...that is my favorite china pattern for Christmas. The cream soups go great with everything.
ReplyDeleteDoes it count if I have been sorting through my immense cookie file to see what I will be baking this year?!
Kathleen:

ReplyDeleteI am slow in getting decorations out this year, too. I hope to get a lot accomplished this weekend.
I will be parading as I don't want a single Christmas dish to go unused. Whether it's just for the two of us or for a crowd, they will be on the table until New Year's. Hope seems very appropriate for many in your area right now.
ReplyDeleteI love these Christmas dishes! The glasses, the chargers, everything is pulled together wonderfully! And I'm so impressed with the gorgeous bow you tied for the centerpiece. I can never get them to come out as nice! Beautiful table!

ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful Lenox Christmas dishes! The cream soup bowls looks fabulous with them. What a wonderful gift they were! I also really like how you used those little pine cones in the base of your candle holder. I have a lot of them so you have given me an idea about how to use some of them! I am still decorating. I don't know what is taking me so long this year!!!
Beautiful Kathleen! Those Tartan Plaid plates are among my most favorite dishes from Lenox. I love them! You have set a gorgeous table with them. Christmas is rapidly approaching here. I really do need to try and back some goodies this year. Thanks for the reminder, yours look delish!
