Another rainy day here in NY, so the pics are a bit dark.
This beautiful green tablecloth with banded edge is from WSonoma Outlet. I waited till they marked them way down a day before Easter. They were disappearing quickly!
It is a very pretty green, accented with white flowers, perfect for Spring, as it Spring for another month, but I think it could be used in Summer too.
I used green and white hosta leaves, white azaleas, lily of the valley, and another white flower from a neighbor's shrub in a white pitcher for the centerpiece.
I placed it on a square green and white toile like plate.
My neighbor let me cut some to try and root, but he, nor the few nurseries I took it took it to know what it is.
DO YOU?
White charger from Noritake, white square plate from CTS, Green dinner from Reading glass, .98, thank you Alma!
Green leaf plate from WS Outlet, at the same sale.
The napkin matches the cloth, and the pretty green beaded napkin ring is from CTS. I tucked some Lily of the Valley in the ring.
The flatware is by Cambridge from CTS, and what luck with how well the color went with the cloth! Greens are hard.
The very tall stem is from CTS, and the wine is from a set I have had for years.
Candlesticks by Mikassa, Bird salt and peppers Pier One, and white porcelain shells for butter from WSonoma Outlet as is the green cabbage bowl, marked $48 but I got it for $11, the platter too, not shown.
Let's Eat~
Memorial Day weekend is coming and this is perfect for a crowd.
I lined a deep rectangular basket with tin foil, and placed the mushroom and cucumbers around the edge.
Many people do not care for them, this way they can dig in to the center of the salad and not have to pick them out!
I filled the center with chicken.
Cut the cutlets into small chunks, season and shake in flour.
Brown them in a scant amount of oil.
When they are done, you can drain, and toss in terriyaki, or duck sauce or whatever you like.
Mound in the middle of red leaf lettuce.
Something for the non meat eaters this holiday weekend.
Simple Fish Tacos
Filet of Flounder done with Panko, topped with home made cole slaw. Me? I'll have a Hamburger!
I missed Seasonal Sunday last week, but plan to do a Memorial Day post, in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and their families who are forever changed.
Now it is your turn, show us your dishes!
PLEASE...

How lovely. Love your silverware!!!!! ooh, I might have to get in on the beach theme!!! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteOh my, this is just beautiful. I love this shade of green and you have done it up royally. Love those cabbage plates, I havn't seen ones like that. I will just eat the whole salad, it looks amazing. Beautifully done. Have a super Holiday. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteYou have always had fabulous tables, but this is my favorite! I love that shade of green, it is so peaceful. Those leaf dishes are great.
ReplyDeleteUm, I will have the fish and leave the cholesterol burger for you!
The tablecloth and napkins are so pretty and perfect for Spring! I love the salad. I don't eat mushrooms so this presentation is perfect for me. Have a wonderful holiday weekend! Oh, and I missed seeing you at the party this week ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love this green table! That shade of green is so restful. What a lovely table with the white & green plates. I think this is one of my favorite tables color wise! Now I'm going to be looking for green! Happy Dish Day! :) Linda
ReplyDeleteLove the green table. I can't play this time, because I am still waiting for our new table...but then I am in!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely spring table! That tablecloth is just exquisite -- congrats for landing it as soon as it was marked down! Love the dish layers, too -- so appealing with the different shapes and textures. Thanks for hosting this party.
ReplyDeleteThe shades of green that you have used are so wonderful...I would have snapped up that tablecloth, too. I'll have to watch for it on eBay...which means that I'll pay a bit more than you did....the champion of outlet shopping! This really is such a gorgeous tablescape...I love every moment of it. Thanks for inviting us for a peak and for hosting us for Let's Dish. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteCherry Kay,
DeleteIt is called Tulips. Happy Hunting, ebay queen!
Hi Kathleen,
ReplyDeleteI wonder if your mystery flowers might be from a Mock Orange Shrub? Google that and look at the images and see what you think. Does it have a fragrance at all?
I just wanted to stop by for a minute. I haven't visited much lately, as I've had too many other things going on. I think it won't be much longer before I can do tablescapes again. Your table is really pretty!! I don't use green often, and I just love the shade of green you've used. Those linens are gorgeous for spring -- exactly the kind of thing I love. :o) You got some great deals with the leaf plates and cabbage bowls in addition to the linens, and the flatware matches perfectly! I just love, love that you've used Lilies of the Valley in your centerpiece and in the napkin rings; they're one of the sweetest flowers around, in my humble opinion.
This is gorgeous, Kathleen! I hope you have a nice Memorial/Remembrance Day. Today is our 25th wedding anniversary, by the way. :)
Hugs,
Denise at Forest Manor
Happy Anniversary, Denise! Many more healthy years together!
ReplyDeleteYour table is just gorgeous and the food looks absolutely delish, Kathleen! I swear, every time I see one of your new tablescapes, I want to head right out and buy more dishes, linens and accessories. LOL (I did go a little nuts at a big sale on summer melamine plates, bowls and serving ware, but hubbs doesn't know about it ~ yet.) We've had the rain up here too, but the sun is peeking out right now and I'm crossing fingers & toes that it stays that way. (sigh) I hope you and yours are all well and that you have a truly wonderful holiday weekend! XO ~Mary
ReplyDeleteGorgeous as always, Kathleen. I need to get myself to PBO to see what goodies are still around. LOL
ReplyDeleteThe table cloth and napkins are perfect for spring or summer. Love the mix of greens on your table and the stack of plates. I'm envious of your lily of the valley. It's one of my favorites, but just too hot to grow it here. Thanks for sharing the beauty of this tablescape and for hosting Let's Dish. ~ Sarah
Gorgeous, Kathleen! I love the tablescapes that you create. The greens and whites in this are just lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love that tablecloth Kathleen. Your comment on my post last week was just the best ever-I mean I have never had anyone reference the Pope before. I have no link tonight as I have not scaped a single fork! Maybe next week. It has been generalized brand of crazy here. I am having a party Friday-I will try to get snaps. Hugs, Olive
ReplyDeleteYour tables are ALWAYS SO GORGEOUS! I love the green&white...Your hosta leaves stuck in the centerpiece and the lily of the valley are PERFECT accents...LOVE EVERY DETAIL as always, AND OH you meal looks "SOOO YUMMMY"!
ReplyDeleteHave a fun week,
Hugs,
Donna
Your green tablescape is positively gorgeous! I l o v e green and it is so calming and serene looking. I hope to do more with your meme but am so busy with houseguests etc. Meanwhile I'll enjoy coming back to look!
ReplyDeleteIt's that time of year when salads are a favorite dinner, and one like your would certainly fill the bill. Your table setting is lovely and makes me think it would be perfect for a bridal shower. Are you having one any time soon?
ReplyDeleteOH! Your soft green and white tablescape is gorgeous. I LOVE green and your table has so many great layers and textures..so fresh. I think the plant with the little white flowers is a deutzia. I have a small shrub of it and the flowers look the same. I think the proper name is deutzia gracilis.
ReplyDeleteHope this helps. I'm headed back to look at your tablescape again.
Hugs,
Babs
I looked it up Babs, and it does look like that! Thanks!
DeleteOh, and the fish tacos look awesome. LOVE fish tacos!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought Gaura but the leaves are all wrong.. it could very well be mock orange..some have variegated leaves..perhaps some don't..
ReplyDeleteI love the addition of LOTV:) and funnily enough I just made a centerpiece for a dinner party my daughter had w/ Hostas as the bouquet of whites circumference:)
Beau!
I sniffed, no slight orange aroma.
DeleteI was at a loss for flowers, and the hosta was the right color! My mom called them weeds and wouldn't have them in her gardens, but I like them, and they sure do fill in empty space! :)
Very pretty table! I love the green. And I'll have your fish taco, looks so good. You can have my steak taco?
ReplyDeleteKathleen...I am so in love with your table...it is one of my very favorite colors...the table is so gorgeously coordinated...I love everything about it....and just love the flatware!!...I think the plant could be Mock Orange..
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
This is a beautiful table! I love it! What a pretty shade of green, and so well-matched! Everything is so very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe salad looks delicious.
I am LOVING your spring green and white table! The linens are SO pretty and the plate layering is wonderful! Maybe it's the simplicity of one color and white, but it is so easy on the eye!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Let's Dish! It's the highlight of my week! I PROMISE I will put my blog name this time! Here, I'll practice:
Creating Wonderful Spaces
:) Thanks, Elaine!
DeleteWhat a beautiful table. The soft greens are so calming and pleasant. Love all of your pretty layers. It's just perfect! Your recipes sound good too. So happy to be joining you once again and thank you for hosting. If I don't get the chance to talk to you before the weekend, have a happy and safe Memorial Day!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Susan and Bentley
I love this green Kathleen! Beautiful table!
ReplyDeleteI just finished my post at 5 or so..CDT. Had not even thought about it as we are really very busy! But I need the break and the post was a good break for me.
Thanks so much for hosting.
So I was probably the first that screwed up the name thing.. sorry sorry. I'll do better next week promise. I love your green table.. I am envious of the tablecloth and napkins, oh and your pretty dishes just did this one up grand. The flatware is perfect! and the white arrangement in the center is like a crown on the table. I love this..totally. I could even see this for Easter! thanks for hosting.. xo marlis
ReplyDeleteI love your green table, Kathleen! The tablecloth is so pretty and I can't believe the flatware matching so well. I would've bought that pretty cabbage bowl, but darn, no WS outlet here! I love all your white flowers as your centerpiece. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteThou shall not covet, but I DO...your gorgeous tablecloth! I adore green and white and I wish we had a WSO nearby! I love the Lily of the Valley tucked in your napkins and the addition of the hosta leaves in your centerpiece! Thanks for having me this week :)
ReplyDeleteKathleen~ Google Winter Cherry Tree (common name) and look at images and see if that's your neighbors shrub!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary, I will try.
DeleteSo far it does look like deutzia gracalis, but not sure!
Thank you for hosting. I am so very jealous that you are close to a WS outlet! Oh, my. Maybe it is a good thing. Your tablecloth is gorgeous and I love everything that you found to do with it. The flatware is wonderful. The variety of white flowers is so pretty together.
ReplyDeleteOops! I forgot to comment on the food! It looks absolutely delicious! Salad is just what I want when it gets hot like this. Aren't those Panko crumbs wonderful?
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this table. I have really been on a roll with the greens this year, and this is so beautiful. It must be wonderful to have all those outlets nearby - we don't have anything like that. I don't know what that flower is called, but I think I have seen it. Whatever, it is beautiful. Maybe the neighbor's plant will put out some volunteers?
ReplyDeleteOK, this is beautiful. Green just makes me calm and this table is calming. The cloth is amazing and the dishes are so wonderful. Thanks so much for hosting Let's Dish! Dianne
ReplyDeleteI love your pretty green table! There's just something about that shade of green. The linens are beautiful! Another fabulous table, Kathleen.
ReplyDeleteKathleen:
ReplyDeleteI love all of the green and white. I was just playing around with a similar color scheme for an upcoming table. Awesome tablecloth. I don't remember seeing the square lace edged plates before. Love the use of the varigated hosta.
- The Tablescaper
Kathleen, this is such a pretty, peaceful tablescape! And the food you shared (I wish!) is perfect for a not-too-heavy Springtime meal. Thanks for hosting. This is fun!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I am partial to green and white and your table is absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteKathleen, Your table is exquisite! Love the green and white together! Beautiful tablecloth, amazing how well the flatware matches. Hope someone can solve the flower mystery for you. Thanks for hosting! Can't wait to see all the tables. Pam
ReplyDeleteOh my~how could I forget to mention the beautiful chicken salad! Can I steal that? :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your new linens. Just beautiful. I think it would work for Spring, Summer, baby showers, Easter and more. Love that shade of green and your food looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThat color of green is just about my favorite. I think your table is exquisite. I love the extra touches you put on, like the flowers with the napkins. Your flowers are so very beautiful. Then you get to the meal and that chicken salad looks scrumptious. I love the idea of putting certain things around the edge. I for one, love all that, but you are right, some people don't. It's a great idea. Yummy fish tacos. I love your post and I'm doing pretty good to navigate my way around so I can join in. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhoopsy! Sorry Miz Kathleen, I had to go back and redo my entry. Didn't put my blog name first. I read your post after I submitted. LOL! I fixed it though so it's all good now. I love your green and white setting! It's so pretty! I love, love, love that tablecloth and those napkins. The flowers are so beautiful too. It all looks so pretty and the lacy looking salad dishes are just perfect for that delicious looking salad!
ReplyDeleteHi, Kathleen. I love this tablecloth--the design and the color! It makes for a lovely, serene table. And I love the lettuce/cabbage plates. You lucky lady to have a WS outlet near you! I'm sorry I can't join in with a table--my post this week is of our screened porch, but no table setting. :( Enjoy the party, as I will! ~Zuni
ReplyDeleteOh golly Kathleen,
ReplyDeleteI am love with that green tablecloth! And the centerpiece is so pretty and so clever too!
Happy Memorial Day to you,
Cindy
I'm not sure what you mean BLOG NAME FIRST...? We have to fill in what the blanks ask us, right?
ReplyDeleteANYway...your table is lovely...and the food looks delicious...well, except for the FISH..:)) No fish at Sweet Nothings unless Mr. Sweet grills HIS outside along with MY chicken. :))
Oh, I do love your tablecloth and napkins and all of your greens came together perfectly. Your dishes are gorgeous and your menu sounds delicious! Thank You for hostessing and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDelete(hugs)
Aledia @ Plum Perfect
Kathleen, your green & white table is simply gorgeous. Everything goes so well together it's hard to believe that you sourced it from so many different places.
ReplyDeleteYou have a trained eye for a stylish bargain, indeed!
I always love to visit!
The new tablecloth is drop dead gorgeous, and I love the leaf plates too! Do the white blossoms on your neighbor's bush have a light orange scent by any chance? If so, I have the same bush and will look at the tag later. Thank you for being a wonderful hostess! Enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour table is so very pretty Kathleen! Love the soft green and white. Every detail of your table is beautiful. The white flowers look to me like Casa Blanca lilies and smell heavenly. I could be wrong but they are simply gorgeous. Everything is.
ReplyDeleteThe memorial day menu sounds and looks delicious too!
Thanks for hosting another great linky party. Its a delight to be able to participate. My apologies for not putting my blog name first. I added my link before reading your instructions this time. So sorry about that!
Nann
That's ok, Nann. You could even just put Nann. It is just easier with a name or blog name than a post name.
DeleteThat fish looks great and have yourself a great Memorial Day weekend folks. Richard
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Sunshine! I hope the weather has cleared up there in New York. We are roasting here in the Midwest!!! I have started carrying the thermal cooler in the back seat of my car again for transporting milk, ice cream, cheese, etc. I have a bunch of those ice packs that are used for icing down bodily injuries that I toss in there before I go to the store. Works great! Anyhoooooo.....I am one of those people who does read every word of posts which is why it takes me forever and a day to get through them each week!!! I've always just used MY name instead of a post name or my blog name, but I'll start putting my blog name. Will it even fit???? It's so long!!! :-) GREAT idea on the salad!!! A lot of people turn their noses up at salad elements like onions and mushrooms, so putting them on the perimeter makes perfect sense!!! I am going to do that from now on if I set out a "community" salad! Man...why didn't I think of that? Pretty green on the CTS table....uh, I mean the table. :-) Seriously...if CTS ever comes to the Midwest, I am going to have my way with that store!!! You guys get some fabulous bargains there. I was at Old Time Pottery in Kansas City yesterday, and I think it might be CTS's counterpart. Maybe not. Anyhow, great table again this week and a beautiful salad! I'm with hubby on the burger, though. I'm a born and bred Midwestern gal....where's the beef? :-) Have a great weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteMore at WSonoma Outlet table this time. :)
DeleteYes, I think OTP must be very similar to CTS!
Lovely table setting for a party. So nice visiting you and all your friends.Thank you for all the fun.Denise from Coffeeberry Cottage
ReplyDeleteI think this is one of your prettiest tables, Kathleen. I love the soft green and white. Sure wish we had one of those WS outlets nearby.
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say Kathleen! You are too much!!! I love all your dishes, so pretty and the tablecloth in such lovely green with lovely napkins to match, wow! The food is TDF, wish I had some, it's almost 1pm and I'm hungry, I'm waiting for the little girls to come from school to eat. Thanks for hosting, I just love, love this party and you are a terrific, nice and fun hostess, Kathleen.
ReplyDeleteLuv ya,
FABBY
Lovin' your pretty green and white linens K! Please make it stop raining (for now anyway). And I hope you have a great Memorial Day Weekend-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteWhat a refreshing table...I love that soft shade of green. And how lucky are you that it matches perfectly with your flatware. It was like it was made together! Thanks for hosting your party...I joined in for the first time this week. It is always so much fun to see all of the wonderful tables that are set and it's nice to have a place to share all of these ideas. Thanks again and have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm just getting around to visiting and I was fortunate enough to have my sister Elaine link me up last night. Sometimes life gets in the way of blogging (the nerve of it!). I had to DVR the finale of American Idol too! I adore the soft green color you used this week and can't believe how the flatware matches too. Greens can be tough too. More of your wonderful CTS finds. They really should compensate you! How nice would that be? Thanks for hosting!

I love that special table, everything is so fresh and beautiful here. The table cloth and napkins are to die for! Love that green.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Hope to see you on my blog:)
I do not have a blog, but love to look, and visit often via BNOTP. I love your table, green and white is always such a classic look. I purchased this same tablecloth at the WS Outlet, but resisted, reluctantly, the leaf plates. Seeing your table reminded me that I haven't used my tablecloth yet. After the red, white and blue for this weekend, I think a green and white table is in my future. Thank you for sharing. MM
ReplyDeleteI'm nearly positive that this has moved to first place as my favorite table of yours. (Of course, that spot is continually changing...) I love the green linens so that just makes the table. I have been out of town for a week or so so it's nice to visit and see the table inspiration here.
ReplyDeleteI'll have my beach table thinking cap on now!
What a beautiful tablecloth, Kathleen. You are right about the color, the shade of green is really pretty. Sorry I was unable to link this time. We just arriverd from Atlanta on Wed. evening. Have a nice weekend...Christine
ReplyDeleteHi Kathleen!
ReplyDeleteI finally have a dish post to share! Yay!
That shade of green is so soft and lovely... very Springy indeed. I really like the twisted handles of the flatware.
Your suggestion about placing the cucumbers and mushrooms at the side of the salad is a good one, I do that with tomatoes when one of my DDs visit.
Thanks so much for hosting, I hope to share again in a few weeks.
xoxo Bunny Jean
Wednesdays Bunny Hop Party!
Beautiful table using my favorite shade of green. Your flatware, combination of dishes, flowers, and tablecloth all work in concert to achieve a serene and welcoming table. Add the food, and you've made a party! Thanks for sharing. Happy Memorial Weekend. ~CJ
ReplyDeleteStill trying to catch up after my work week!! I'm so behind in visiting my blog buddies. I love that soft shade of green, Kathleen. Green tables are perfect for spring, I think!
ReplyDeleteHey, Kathleen. For some reason I couldn't get the comment thingy to work on your Memorial Day post, so I'm leaving a comment here instead. I just wanted to let you know that I found that post to be very heartfelt and sweet. I'm sure your friend, Whitey, would be honored and pleased to sit at that table with you if he were still with us. I agree that we should consider and remember not only those who have died or live with the lasting ill-effects of post-war trauma, but the families who have endured so much. We as a nation owe each and every one of them a debt of gratitude. Take care!
ReplyDeleteKathleen-Greetings from your long-lost friend! I see you are still up to beautiful tables and visiting our friend Bill S :) I thought the white flower looked like some kind of jasmine, but I am sure you would recognize the smell. Love your using the hosta leaves! Hope all your family is doing well. Mine is keeping me busy and I don't foresee getting over being a BH in the near future :) Would love to hear from you!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors! Happy Summer!
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh....I am in LOVE with this table setting!!! After I saw it as your header, I had to hunt it up. Mine won't be nearly as lovely, but you can be sure that I am going to copy this :^)
ReplyDeleteCould your flowers be Mock Orange???
Blessings to you,
J
