Yellow, Purple, Green and Pink Polka Dots~Peter Rabbit, your table for 4…

March is flying, and Easter is early.  There aren’t many TTh’s before the table for the great day…

Some of you may remember a pink polka dot table I did, (here)

I used the same plates, but added lots of color..

Peter asked if he could have Flopsie, Mopsie and another bunny over for dinner.  I know they used to spell it with ey on the end, but remember when girls named Kathy, changed it to Kathie, Patty  became Pattie?  Well, they are going with that trend!

In my house you were called what you were Baptized , with the middle name added in if you were in trouble!  :)(glass egg holders WSonoma outlet…Place egg holders CTS..)

Since they are bunnies, I thought carrots would be a good napkin ring (they came on a ribbon, made of foam from CTS.  I took them apart and glued them to a plain ring.)

The larger yellow mat is from Kohls, and the smaller pink from CTS, as are the polka dot plates and  $1  egg shaped salad bowls. The guest of honor got a green charger and the others got white, from Noritake when I didn’t even know what a charger plate was!

Dark pink napkins, don’t remember where..one of the outlets..:)

I used the egg vase but the tulips died   :(  so I used mini daffodils.

The cute chick salt and peppers are from CTS..

The rabbit pitcher is from Mikassa a few years ago.

It is my  friend Susan’s, ( Savoring Time in the Kitchen ) birthday, so a little cake for her!  Happy Birthday dear friend!

Spring Things…

The calendar says it is Spring…and it was a beautiful weekend. Today, not so much…rain.  And the farm down the road did their Spring fertilizing, and believe me, more than the weather stunk!

I dragged all the Leprechauns down to the basement (kicking and wailing like Banshees)  and brought up some of the Spring things.. Don’t have much for my  table top yet, but I am joining Marty at A Stroll Thru Life…and remember her cloche party on Apr. 2nd…

The egg vase holding the tulips is from Villeroy and Boch.  I have the large version too…

The Salt and Pepper shakers are Blue Robin’s eggs…I don’t have the Birds so many of you have, so maybe when these hatch I will have some..:)

The pitcher I got at Mikassa a few years ago..

This is the larger egg, and the plates were a birthday gift from my friend Pam..:) And the bunny and carrot bowl from my friend Vita..Aren’t friends generous?

So it would be nice to treat them to a steak, twice baked potato, onion ring and asparagus dinner I think! But I didn’t..shame on me!

Yesterday was my dear little gdau’s bday.

She asked me if  I could make the cake one layer white,

one chocolate, iced in whipped cream and have pink writing…. But of course!

 

I didn’t get a good pic of the inside..sorry…

It has whipped cream and cherries in between  the layers..

Time for tea…I borrowed  Lily’s little silver tea set..and the cup is from my wedding china, Heather by Noritake.. The little chintz teapot and cup ornaments were a gift sent to me by a forum friend, Catie.. so cute!

Foodie Friday and Thank You!

I want to say thank you to  everyone who left comments on the St. Patrick’s Day Blog Crawl…I truly appreciate each one.  Thank you to all  83 who  participated.  It was so much fun, and how great was it that  some gals from Ireland joined in? 

We did a lot of crawling, and I hope none of you are feeling like these folks look..:)

I am joining ML at Designs by Gollum for her weekly Foodie Friday…ML is such a good hostess and visits all her guests, so stop over at her place…She is having another give away too!

I bought some wire pencil holders 2/$1.  I thought they would be a good way to serve soft tacos and wraps. They would be good for breadsticks too, a little large for French Fries unless you are supersizing them!

I stir fried some chicken pieces, you can use any sauce you like, but I used Teriyaki , carmelized onions, shredded lettuce and cheese.  You can add what other veggies you like..

Line the cup with parchment paper and place the wrap inside.  I served it with thinly sliced Parmesan Potatoes.

 

Follow it up with a slice of Banana Cream Cake from last night’s St. Patrick’s Day Dinner…
