It's warm, and right now the sun is shining. It's playing peek a boo today.
I have ribs in the oven cooking low and slow for dinner. We are going apple picking later, 32 dollars a bag, but the gkids are here so they like to go. It takes all of 10 minutes to fill the bag and dodge the bees!
Hope whatever you are doing this Sunday is enjoyable!
I haven't done any Fall fluffing yet. I need a few sweater days to get me into the mood to dig out those bins!
I have heard some scratching and cackling coming from those bins.
It must be these 4.
They look harmless, don't they? Don't let their cuteness fool you!
Over the past years they have done a lot of mischief throughout blog land. I know some of you have been the brunt of their antics, and this year they are planning to visit many of you.
Just sayin', be prepared! They start their FLY BY in Oct. I think this is year 3.
You can read about their previous deeds HERE and Here.
DRUM ROLL.......................................
The winner of the ACORN PAN is Diann of the Thrifty Grove.
The napkin rings go to Joni at Red Couch recipes.
Please email me your addresses Ladies.
My surprise gift goes to Pat at Back Porch Musings.
She was my 500th follower. The sirens and whistles went off, LOL! Pat's blog is the first blog I ever read before I knew what a blog was, so I was extra happy she was number 500.
If you didn't win this time, keep trying. There are more to be given away when those witches start to fly!
And since it is still so summery here, have an ice cream cone cookie. Sugar cookie dipped in chocolate. I sent away for the cutter. My first try, I will work on making them look better!
I am joining The Tablescaper for Seasonal Sunday.
Thanks for visiting!
Congratulations to all of the winners.

ReplyDeleteKathleen -- imagine my surprise as I was going through you post and saw my name as a winner for those elegant tassel napkin rings! Hurrah! Thanks. How big is that apple bag? I hope it is big because that price doesn't go along with all the fun tablescaping things that you share with us! Thanks again. Joni
ReplyDeleteOh I remember your fun posts with the witches, Kathleen. Congrats to the winners!...Christine
ReplyDeleteDecorating for fall is so far from my mind. I have about 3 little white pumpkins and...that's it.

I do recall those cheeky witches having a wonderful time tricking and treating last year! It's hard to believe they will be out and about again in only a few days!
ReplyDeleteIt seems that you are desperate to hold onto Summer and I am desperate to hold on the cold! I promise to post lots of warm pictures next month if you promise to post lots of cold pictures to cool me down in December!
Best wishes for a wonderful week,
Natasha.

Apples are everywhere here, too, which means it's time to make my favorite apple dapple cake. Aren't you lucky to have the grands close enough to do fun things with? I'm betting they love spending time with you. Maybe because of the always clever treats you have for them?
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners, and I love your new header!
ReplyDeleteHuge congratulations to Pat, Joni & Diann!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me at the new place. I had to change because iWEb is no longer going to exist, and the alternative was too complicated. I haven't done much "falling" either, and I actually did think about digging up some of those sheers our of the trunks in the attic to cover that table pad! Right now there is a painting in front of it, but I will eventually come up with something.
ReplyDeleteYour food looks wonderful as always.
Congrats to the lucky winners! Especially Pat! Don't you just love her? Where on LI do you apple pick? We usually go upstate. And finally, I have a good sugar cookie recipe that doesn't spread so that it holds the shape of the cutter well. Let me know if you're interested. Hope all's well!
ReplyDeleteThese looks wonderful; don't think they need improvement Kathleen!
ReplyDeleteRita
Oh there are those mischievous witches again! Can't wait to see what kind of trouble they cause this year. Congratulations on your # of followers. Love the cute ice cream cone cookies. May I just eat the chocolate part, please? laurie
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners and I am so glad that the ladies got out of the bins! I know we have the same problem with our witches. I spent the day with Joni as we got Beaulah and Zoulah together for a photo shoot to prove that they really are two witches! She was surprised to see Beaulah show up in a box, but I felt that was much safer for a long drive and I didn't want her talking my ear off.
ReplyDeleteI do remember the darlings, but I am off to refresh this aging memory.
Love the cookie cutter and I am in the mood for ice cream year round.
Congrats to those very lucky winners! I'm looking forward to those 4 little witches starting to fly again. Days have cooled down here too so will be out in the garage this week pulling out the Halloween boxes. I'm happy because this is my favorite time of year.
ReplyDeleteContest are fun so congratulations to the winners. I like that ice cream cone cookie, looks delicious. Richard from Amish Stories.

Wow 500 followers.....how wonderful...I don't think 500 people have looked at my blog since I started years ago.....and congrats to all the winners...
ReplyDeleteI heard from Joyce yesterday and she was in NYC but was mad because her FIL had to go into the hospital and that threw off all her dinner plans for the week...SHe's as crazy as ever and having a wonderful time living in Chicago.....that's until the weather turns cold...Joyce hates the cold....But she's enjoying cooking classes and yoga and the senior center and anything else that she can find to do....Gotta love her for adjusting no matter where she goes....
I like the new header Kathleen! I'm going to get some potatoes from our local potato farm, and cut some potatoes in leaf shapes and bake. Great idea!
ReplyDeletePinterest will be my winter activity :-) I've been pinning, but have little time for that.
