We Are Waiting for the Green!

I know it is too early for this!  I had no intentions of posting this table yet, but this week's entry is half done.

I had to run to the doc, and by the time I got back, the light was gone!

So, I had this one I had never posted.

table 3473

I know you are so used to seeing my round  kitchen table, but it has a leaf, so it is also oval. Lots of room for the platter of corned beef and cabbage and bowl of potatoes and carrots and basket of fresh Irish Soda Bread!  :)

I used a white cotton cable knit throw as the cloth.  Green quilted shamrocks for the mats.

Plates from HG last year, and tureens for my Irish Flag Soup are from WSonoma Outlet.

Green Bee glasses from CTS.  The  moss basket is also from CTS and I put a vase with fresh daffodils inside. I put a small Irish flag underneath with an Irish Lass and Lad.

  2. Hi Kathleen,
It was a pleasure to see all that green!!
A very cute St. Patty's day table. Love your shamrock plates, they are so pretty. My dad would have loved this table. He was Irish and took it very seriously. People were always giving him something Irish on St. Patricks day,
it was also my Grandfathers birthday.

My post is pics from last winter, so figure I should use them before everyone is sick of red. I have to admit I am getting a bit weary of it myself, and wish I had enough green to change to that for the next month before we go into spring, but probably not.
Now what is a blog crawl?? I saw that somewhere else too, and have No idea what that is!'
    Could you explain please........ Thanks!!
    Have a great day hon,
    blessings, Nellie

  4. I am so impressed with your table all ready to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style! It is just perfect and your dishes, stemware and accessories are just "perfect". It would be impossible for me to pick my favorite item on your table as I love it all (and wish it were mine, too).

  9. Hi, Kathleen! You are REALLY ready for St. Patrick's day!!! Great idea to use the cable knit!!! I was in a great little store here in Lee's Summit a couple of weekds ago called Doherty & Sullivan's Irish Goods. They participated in the annual Chocolate Crawl, so I stopped in while bopping from store to store. There were so many cool things in the store, and we ended up staying much longer than anticipated as the shop owner regaled us with tales and customs. I have had many Irish (wedding) clients in the past and have learned some wonderful customs from them, too. I've never had a St. Patrick's Day party, though. I may have to do that so that I can join in your Blog Crawl on the 15th. Sounds like a lot of fun! Have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by my blog earlier this evening. Always a pleasure to hear from you! And for the record, American Bandstand was the best!!!

  10. Oh, dear..remember how I told you last year that I just couldn't do an Irish table as I had nothing to do one with. You said, "now, I know you can do it, bj, so just get busy." And, so I made a trip to the Dollar Tree and Walmart and finally came up with a SORT of Irish table. You are such an inspiration, girlfriend and I love ya.

You asked in your recent comment on my English loves if I had any thing from Ireland..I had forgotten that a good friend went to Ireland last year and brought me a tiny little ceramic shamrock. So glad I remembered it..I will use it in all it's glory...:)))

Your table, as always, looks amazing. :))
