I wasn’t going to do it, but gave in at the last minute.

Like I said..I PICKed them , Lily of the Valley..
I love their aroma, and they remind me of my mom..who loved flowers and had beautiful gardens..and was a wonderful mom to her four girls.
I remember the clematis climbing the hooks and strings she fashioned on the side of the house…the amazing roses..She was never too tired to help anyone, and no one was out of the way for her!
For our dance recitals , although we wanted the bouquets from the florist , she made ours..nosegays filled with peonies and roses..
And I continue the tradition for my little gdau., Lily. When I can beat the deer to my flowers, ie!:)

ReplyDeleteVery nice tribute to your mother. I love the nosegay, even though it has pink flowers and ribbons. Lilies of the valley do have an intoxicating smell...reminds me of when I was little, picking big bunches for my mother.

My mom died 22 years ago, even though it seems like only yesterday. I really miss her and this year, mother's day seems to be a hard one to get through for some reason.

ReplyDeleteI was new to this as well. I am going to take my camera this month to the dr's office...they alreay think I am nuts wearing my bird doo broach so taking a camera into the bathroom will look normal...They will just think its the pain meds I was on has now damaged my brain.... Or not!

ReplyDeleteOh, to be near a W-S outlet! There's a store on just about every corner here (or so it seems) but not an outlet. I've been to the outlet in Memphis in years past but it's the only one I know of and nine+ hours is a bit far to travel for a bargain!!
