Birds~Eggs~Nests Table Challenge~ National Audubon Dishes~Let’s Dish!

Hello, Ladies!  Time for the monthly challenge here!

Before you link up, please read this.  If you took the challenge you must have included at least one of the above elements in your scape.

You have to link back to this party in your post or at the end, but not on a different page.  We all know no one goes to that page! : ()

Please be a follower to link up, and link to no more than 5 parties. ( I am stealing that from Share Your Cup at Jann’s, it is a good idea!)I have a hard time remembering to link to that many!

Please put your blog name first.

Turn off your word ID if you have it, it takes up too much time to type the code in, so people leave without commenting.

The most important thing is, that if you link, you visit at least 5 entries.  We are not a huge party, I know I run from parties where there are a huge amount of links. And remember, only ONE link.

I know you get many visits from this party, as that is the kind of gals who link here, we visit each other!  Linking and running is not their way!

My inspiration tonight came from Alma, The Tablescaper.

She gifted me with these lovely BIRD dishes, pink compotes, AND the little white linen coaster on it for my birthday.  There are 12 plates and 3 different bird designs.  You will see those in later posts.

She also gave me the beautiful cut work runner beneath the plate.

The centerpiece started with this white ceramic bird bath I got, a few years ago at Michael’s.
IMG_0855
White roses and babies breath, with some greens from the yard.

IMG_0867
Some natural colored faux eggs added.

IMG_0861

I started with a rose colored cotton cloth, birds nest charger, white cloth doily from the .99 store, rose Pfaltzgraff Filigree plate, bird plate and pink compote.

Silver swan napkin ring, as birds flock together!  I got them on ebay.
I paired a pale pink linen napkin with a white one.

IMG_0886

The flatware is Calypso by Towle via Cmas Tree Shops.  Pier One carries it too, but more $$$.

Silver egg cup holds a pink hard boiled egg.

IMG_0885

Glassware is by Gorham, via Lenox Outlet.

IMG_0847

These are the little linen coasters Alma gave me.  Aren’t they darling?  The birdie glasses were also from Alma, and they will fly into a later post.

IMG_0891

I think that’s about everything.  The nest chargers were a find at the PB Outlet on one of the bargain hunting trips with Alma, , 2.00 each!   I used them in this table too.

Are REDy for Easter? You have the Ears, but I have the WHOLE Bunny!

Hello, Ladies!  Happy April, or HOPPY April if tonight’s table plays into it!

I know many of you have those burlap bunny ear napkin rings, (Pier One)

Burlap Bunny Ears Napkin Ring

but I have the ears and the bunny!

IMG_0815

My sweet friend, Dani Pessoa, made these adorable bunnies.  Stop over to her blog and see her beautiful napkin rings and tables.  Her photography is wonderful!  I love them, Dani, thanks!

I know red is not a color you think of when you think Easter.  The checks are pink and red, so I could have added some pink, but I stuck with red and white.

IMG_0781

I tried this red cloth, but decided to stick with the checks.

IMG_0803

Red and white check cloth from linentablecoths.com, white charger, red scrolled plates, CTS, and white Filigree by Pfaltzgraff.  I liked the scrolls on both.

White flatware via Horchow sale.

Egg cups and butter domes from Cmas Tree Shop.

IMG_0799

The red glassware is making its debut tonight, on sale after Cmas at the Lenox Outlet, by Gorham.

IMG_0792

The clear stems were in the clearance at CTS, $1.00

IMG_0786

The centerpiece is a white wicker basket , fresh white roses and baby’s breath.

A stack of chocolate chip cookies wrapped in dotted parchment paper is the take home.

Last weekend we went in to see my gdau Lily, in her school play.  They did “Meet Me In St. Louis.”

Since her 4 brothers had to sit through the 2 and a half hours of singing and dancing, and you know how little boys love that, I made some treats for them.

IMG_0767

Dozens and dozens of choc chip and oatmeal raisin cookies.

IMG_0766

I used a different recipe and was disappointed, should have stuck to tried and true.  I had half of the recipe left, so the next day I adjusted it and was able to get the consistency we like.  Thick and chewy.  The earlier ones, not chewy enough.  DH ate all his though!

IMG_0777

I think with a big glass of cold milk they would be fine, though!

IMG_0773

Made some apple oatmeal raisin crisp too.  Peel and slice your apples, add cinnamon and sugar.  Top with you favorite oatmeal raisin cookie dough and bake.   Cookies and fruit all in one!

IMG_0771

A little something for everyone!

Getting Your Bunny On ~ Easter is On its Way!

We missed the big snow storm.  Cape Cod got it, but here on the East end of Long Island we lucked out!

We got the 50 mph winds and it is frosty, but at least no snow!

I mean ,how can we think bunnies and chicks when we are still dealing with Snowmen?

IMG_0355 (3)

I am starting to drag the Easter decos up from the basement.

table 697

This is a Villeroy and Boch Egg I got years ago.  You can use the top for flowers.  I waited them out for it and when it went to clearance, I scooped it up for under 15.00

table 704 (Small) (3)

You can see it here holding tulips.  The Bunny pitcher is by Mikassa, and the plates came from HG.

table 708

This Villeroy & Boch  Mama Bunny is a cookie jar.  I gave it to my dil, but she has 4 more little bunnies plus the one here!

table 2181

Egg tray with bunny salt and pepper shakers.

table 2113

My Debbie Mumm basket, the top comes off to fill with goodies.

I got it at the Oneida Outlet years ago.

table 2115

table 2120

A smaller version of the V&B egg vase, it was a gift.

table 3508

An abundance of ripe bananas meant I had to bake. I gave some to my neighbors, and some went into the freezer.

IMG_0736

Banana Choc chip Crumb.  The addition of the crumbs gives it a nice twist.

IMG_0737

You can see the recipe here.  Then just add crumbs, butter, flour, sugar, cinnamon, you know how!  I am sure the way you make crumbs is as good as mine.

I want to show you some gifts I recently received for my birthday.  Come back this weekend, I’ll show you!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope Spring is hopping your way!

Spring Has Sprung! Bring on the Flowers!

Let's Dish 272

Today I had the urge to go to the nursery and buy some pansies!  I just want to see some color when I look outside.  I resisted though, we are supposed to get some snow this week, so I will hold off.

table 3677

Maybe I will find some sweet pink tulips at the market this week.

Or just set a flowery table to hold me over!

table 3978

table 3819

table 3826

Until I buy some flowers, I will just have to make the edible kind!  Dh likes them better anyway!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Remember the April 9th Let’s Dish Challenge …the theme is BIRDS~ EGGS or NESTS!
