Foodie Friday~ Is it Fixed???

I don't know... how does your computer get infected with all the anti this and that you have on the computer to protect it????...over 3 hours on the phone with DELL!!!

I have to do strange things to get on the net...Time will tell..
I am still having a lot of problems and waiting for DELL to call me back...and waiting...and waiting..

My son met Lidia Bastianich the other night at her restaurant. A signed cookbook???...no..a little cell phone pic for his old mom???, no..

Photobucket

It was a Business meeting and he didn't feel it would be appropriate..He's right..but I would have loved to have an autographed cookbook from her, with a little Bolegnese on the side..:) He said the food was very good.

Tonight I am sharing meatloaf stuffed with mozzarella, onions and spinach..good, but as DH says, "It is still meatloaf." I like meatloaf..he doesn't...
So I made some beer battered onion rings to perk it up, some wild rice and a little sauce on the side..

Saturday was my little gson's 6th birthday..so some cupcakes..vanilla with whipped cream and sprinkles was his request..

Photobucket

I use a product called WHIP IT as a stabilizer for the fresh whipped cream...It is made by Oetker..( no, they didn't ask me to say that..:) )

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend..supposed to be very cold and windy here..
Thanks for visiting..

Three or More Tuesday and Tabletop Tuesday

The gremlins are at it again!  I installed Norton 2010, and now everything is a restricted site and infected with a virus.  Even Photobucket…!!  I have no idea what to do, it says my email is infected and I can’t open it.

Pop ups keep saying I have a Spyware Worm Windows.32..I mean that sounds terminal..  Norton keeps popping up saying it has blocked a Trojan..Holy cwap, I am under attack!!

I am going to leave 2 aspirins on this Dell, and hope it cures itself by morning…it has been shut down a dozen times..

I have a few bargains to show you…more than 3 so I am joining Tam at The Gypsy’s Corner

And since they are for a tabletop I am joining Tabletop Tuesday over at Barb’s Grits and  Glamour..Thanks for hosting ladies!

Not Silk, But Wicker…

I bought this wicker top hat , and wanted to use it as a centerpiece..

Blog Labor 228

I had hoped for fresh flowers, but  Mr. Cuisine, ( that cracks me up ..he no way wants to be Mr. Cuisine..he has never even looked at this blog!) came back from Sams Club, an hour away with a report that they didn't have what I wanted..:(.

So I had some faux, and took apart an old silver twig and silver berry  wreath I was going to ditch anyway!..I replaced his plaid hat band with a silver one.  It will have to do..

Placed a dollar store snowflake underneath

Black tablecloth and napkins…napkins are Lenox..tied with a silver snowflake ribbon..

Mosaic Monday and a Little Merchandise too!

This has been a Merchandise week.  Wednesday I met 2 of my friends who are still teaching for dinner.  We decided to meet near The Christmas Tree Shop, how convenient!  By the time they got there after work, I had found quite a few goodies…

It was so good to see them and have a nice leisurely dinner with them..(Hi Sue!)  I don’t like the long drive home alone, but I hadn’t seen them in over a year..and it was time!

I won’t show you everything..just a few things…

 Blog Labor 203

I might wear that to Laurie’s Party..It will be here before you know it!

And the other things are for the BIG holiday coming up in March.

I love that dark green glass cake stand.  Perfect for some Shamrock cookies, or Leprechaun cakes..

Saturday, I had a Blogger encounter of the shopping kind with The Tablescaper.    She is definitely a BAD influence.  We had lunch first, then talked about all of our favorite blogs.. Were your ears ringing?  You KNOW we mentioned you!

We hit Pier One, TJMAXX, and a Thrift Shop among other places..

Blog Labor 210

I paid a dollar for each on the right, and 2 dollars for the spooner.  I didn’t know what is was, TT told me.  I thought it would be sweet with some flowers..

I also got 2 Pinhiero white plates for $1..You can see it here..

I’ve Got A Metamorphosis, Mosaic, and Recipe~Who could ask for anything more??

Blog Labor 141

Blog Labor 155

Are you tired of the same old tablecloths…do you yearn for some colorful napkins?  :)

Yes?  Well, then make them..

I found these remnants at a designers fabric warehouse…they let me, the non designer, in..they let anyone with CASH in..  I spent FIVE whole dollars!!!  It is good double sided cotton from Portugal…

Each piece was a DOLLAR, and are big enough for the round table in my breakfast nook/kitchen area table.

There was an extra piece with the lime green plaid, so he threw that in..thank you!  I was able to get 7 regular napkins and a runt from it…

So my metamorphosis  from remnant to….

 Blog Labor 166

Blog Labor 167a little breakfast table setting…Tablecloth..8 napkins.. total  $1.00  ..  almost free!  :)

I sewed a line then fringed them, but really I don‘t think it is much faster than doing a hem..and then you have threads all over the place.:(

I may have to rethink the fringe idea!

I hope to use each one in a future tablescape..

Please stop by Susan’s At Between Naps On The Porch for Metamorphosis Monday..

The Recipe..Rigatoni Pie…from Martha Stewart

Blog Labor 145

Blog Labor 156

Blog Labor 147

You can find the recipe here

My notes..

Make or use spaghetti sauce..Mike had made a pot of sauce and meatballs so I used homemade sauce..

I don’t think a can of crushed tomatoes would have good flavor…

I oiled my pan with olive oil...

Really stuff the meat, which I browned with finely chopped onions into each noodle…it makes them stand at attention..:)

I used a layer of ricotta/mozza mixture ..like you would make for lasagna or baked ziti..

Spread it over the meat…then the layer of mozzarella..

Blog Labor 142

I know it sounds time consuming, but it wasn’t that bad…I would do this for an occasion..Like Super Bowl..or a family gathering..be sure to have extra sauce to serve with it.

I am going to try it again, I have another idea I want to try…but we will be eating this for a few more days!

Blog Labor 154

And lastly, my  Mosaic..Please join Mary at Little Red House to see more entries…She’s having a give away..go see!
