I am joining Susan from a Southern Daydreamer for Outdoor Wednesday..
Last week I showed you the beginning of a mysterious outdoor structure...
I will show you another peek, but it is not totally finished..so I'll string it out one more week for the completed project...
Eight years ago we knocked down our summer home and built a new home. It was near retirement time for me, and we had decided to live year round in the town we had summered in since 1975.
My husband had built a lovely outdoor shower for us, but when the house was demolished there went my shower. It is a wonderful thing to have here by the beach, the sand stays outside!
All the finishing touches should be complete by next Wed..
Here's a pretty spot near here...
I took this pic on my walk today...I like the way the houses are reflected in the water.
Annie, if you are reading, see Marie's house?
This body of water flows into the Peconic Bay.
Thanks for coming, please visit Susan's blog to see the other Outdoor Wednesday entries..
That is neat, Kathleen! And I think that it is a great idea for living so close to the water. Sand needs to stay outside! AND you have the added benefit of being able to jump in there after a day of digging in the garden! It's a double bonus! Thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
Oh the reflections are fabulous for sure :0)
ReplyDeleteWow that outdoor shower is beautiful!!
Happy Outdoor Wednesday Kathleen!Oh it going to be wonderful! I wish I lived closer so I could come see it! Thanks for sharing your photos.~ Susan

ReplyDeleteWhat a great location to live -- Here on the prairie there is no ocean and I long for one -- we do have lakes but most of those are manmade.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shower -- will be much used I am sure.
Hi Kathleen! Oh, what a wonderful addition to your porch! It's lovely! I didn't know the name of the pointy hydrangea - thank you for telling me. It's so beautiful, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia :)
I'm guessing the mysterious structure is going to be a shower/sauna! That really is too good to be true tho... Oh my gosh... I can only dream. What a beautiful place to retire!

Great picture, Kathleen. The picture of Marie's house makes me a little melancholy. Actually, one of Ken's fondest memories is of their outdoor shower! Maybe you'll let him come over sometime for a shower?
